दीर्घायु के लिए त्रिवृत् मणिThe triple amulet for long life

नव प्राणान् नवभिः सं मिमीते दीर्घायुत्वाय शतशारदाय ।हरिते त्रीणि रजते त्रीण्य् अयसि त्रीणि तपसाविष्टितानि

सौ शरद् की लम्बी आयु के लिए वह नौ प्राणों को नौ के साथ मिलाता है। तीन सोने में, तीन चाँदी में और तीन लोहे में हैं, जो तप से भरे हुए हैं।

He fits nine breaths together with nine, for a long life of a hundred autumns. Three are in gold, three in silver and three in iron, all filled with tapas.

अग्निः सूर्यश् चन्द्रमा भूमिर् आपो द्यौर् अन्तरिक्षं प्रदिशो दिशश् च ।आर्तवा ऋतुभिः संविदाना अनेन मा त्रिव्ŕ̥ता पारयन्तु

अग्नि, सूर्य, चन्द्रमा, भूमि, जल, द्यौ, अन्तरिक्ष, दिशाएँ और उपदिशाएँ, और ऋतुओं के साथ एकमत ऋतु-देवता इस त्रिवृत् के द्वारा मुझे पार ले जाएँ।

May Agni, the sun, the moon, the earth, the waters, the sky, the midspace, the directions and the intermediate directions, and the powers of the seasons in accord with the seasons, carry me across by means of this triple one.

त्रयः पोषास् त्रिव्ŕ̥ति श्रयन्ताम् अनक्तु पूषा पयसा घृतेन ।अन्नस्य भूमा पुरुषस्य भूमा भूमा पशूनां त इह श्रयन्ताम्

तीन प्रकार की समृद्धि इस त्रिवृत् में आकर टिके। पूषन् इसे दूध और घी से लेपे। अन्न की बहुतायत, मनुष्यों की बहुतायत और पशुओं की बहुतायत, ये सब यहाँ आकर टिकें।

May three kinds of prosperity rest in the triple one, and may Pushan anoint it with milk and ghee. May abundance of food, of people and of cattle come and rest here.

इमम् आदित्या वसुना सम् उक्षतेमम् अग्ने वर्धय ववृधानः ।इमम् इन्द्र सं सृज वीर्ये᳙णास्मिन् त्रिव्ŕ̥च् छ्रयतां पोषयिष्णु

हे आदित्यो, इस (पुरुष) को धन से सींचो। हे अग्नि, तुम स्वयं बढ़ते हुए इसे बढ़ाओ। हे इन्द्र, इसे वीर्य से युक्त करो। इस पर समृद्धि देने वाला त्रिवृत् टिका रहे।

Adityas, sprinkle this (man) with wealth. Agni, growing strong yourself, make him grow. Indra, endow him with heroic strength. May the triple one, which brings prosperity, rest on him.

भूमिष् ट्वा पातु हरितेन विश्वभ्ŕ̥द् अग्निः पिपर्त्व् अयसा सजोषाः ।वीरुद्भिष् टे अर्जुनं संविदानं दक्षं दधातु सुमनस्यमानम्

सबको धारण करने वाली भूमि सोने के द्वारा तुम्हारी रक्षा करे। लोहे के साथ एकमत अग्नि तुम्हें पार ले जाए। वनस्पतियों के साथ एकमत चाँदी प्रसन्न मन से तुम्हें बल दे।

May the all-bearing earth protect you with the gold, and may Agni, joined with the iron, carry you through. May the silver, in accord with the plants, kindly give you strength.

त्रेधा जातम् जन्मनेदं हिरण्यम् अग्नेर् एकं प्रियतमं बभूव सोमस्यैकं हिंसितस्य परापतत् ।अपाम् एकं वेधसां रेत आहुस् तत् ते हिरण्यं त्रिव्ŕ̥द् अस्त्व् आयुषे

यह सोना जन्म से ही तीन रूपों में पैदा हुआ। एक अग्नि को सबसे प्रिय हुआ, एक घायल सोम से गिर पड़ा, और एक को जल का, विधान करने वालों का बीज कहते हैं। वह त्रिवृत् सोना तुम्हें लम्बी आयु दे।

This gold was born threefold at its birth. One part became Agni's dearest, one fell away from Soma when he was wounded, and one they call the seed of the waters, of the wise ordainers. May that triple gold be yours for long life.

त्र्यायुषं जमदग्नेः कश्यपस्य त्र्यायुषम् ।त्रेधाम्ŕ̥तस्य चक्षणं त्रीण्य् आयूंषि ते ऽकरम्

जमदग्नि की तिगुनी आयु, कश्यप की तिगुनी आयु, अमृत का तीन प्रकार का दर्शन, ये तीन आयु मैंने तुम्हें दी हैं।

The triple life of Jamadagni, the triple life of Kashyapa, the threefold sight of immortality: these three lifetimes I have made yours.

त्रयः सुपर्णास् त्रिव्ŕ̥ता यद् आयन्न् एकाक्षरम् अभिसंभूय शक्राः ।प्रत्य् औहन् मृत्युम् अम्ŕ̥तेन साकम् अन्तर्दधाना दुरितानि विश्वा

जब तीन शक्तिशाली सुपर्ण त्रिवृत् के साथ आए और एक अक्षर में मिल गए, तब उन्होंने अमृत के द्वारा मृत्यु को पीछे धकेला और सारे दुःखों को ढँककर दूर कर दिया।

When three mighty eagles came with the triple one and joined together into a single syllable, they pushed death back with immortality and hid away all troubles.

दिवस् त्वा पातु हरितं मध्यात् त्वा पात्व् अर्जुनम् ।भूम्या अयस्मयं पातु प्रागाद् देवपुरा अयम्

द्युलोक की ओर से सोना तुम्हारी रक्षा करे, बीच के लोक की ओर से चाँदी तुम्हारी रक्षा करे, और भूमि की ओर से लोहे का अंश रक्षा करे। यह देवताओं के दुर्गों में पहुँच गया है।

May the gold protect you from the sky, the silver from the middle realm, and the iron from the earth. This one has gone into the strongholds of the gods.

इमास् तिस्रो देवपुरास् तास् त्वा रक्षन्तु सर्वतः ।तास् त्वं बिभ्रद् वर्चस्व्य् उत्तरो द्विषतां भव

ये तीन देवताओं के दुर्ग हैं, वे चारों ओर से तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। उन्हें धारण करके तुम तेजस्वी बनो और अपने द्वेषियों से ऊपर रहो।

These are the three strongholds of the gods. May they guard you on every side. Wearing them, be full of splendour and rise above those who hate you.

पुरं देवानाम् अम्ŕ̥तं हिरण्यम् य आबेधे प्रथमो देवो अग्रे ।तस्मै नमो दश प्राचीः कृणोम्य् अनु मन्यतां त्रिव्ŕ̥द् आबधे मे

सोना देवताओं का अमर दुर्ग है, जिसे आदि में पहले देव ने बाँधा था। उसे मैं दसों उँगलियाँ आगे करके नमस्कार करता हूँ। त्रिवृत् मुझे इसे बाँधने की अनुमति दे।

Gold is the immortal stronghold of the gods, which the first god bound on in the beginning. I pay him homage with my ten fingers held forward; may the triple one consent to my binding it on.

आ त्वा चृतत्व् अर्यमा पूषा ब्ŕ̥हस्पतिः ।अहर्जातस्य यन् नाम तेन त्वाति चृतामसि

(अब मणि से:) अर्यमन्, पूषन् और बृहस्पति तुम्हें बाँधें। दिन से जन्मे का जो नाम है, उसी से हम तुम्हें कसकर बाँधते हैं।

(To the amulet:) May Aryaman, Pushan and Brihaspati fasten you on. By whatever name the day-born one has, with that we fasten you firmly.

ऋतुभिष् ट्वार्तवैर् आयुषे वर्चसे त्वा ।संवत्सरस्य तेजसा तेन संहनु कृण्मसि

(हे मणि,) ऋतुओं और ऋतु-देवताओं के साथ, आयु और तेज के लिए तुम्हें बाँधते हैं। संवत्सर के तेज से हम तुम्हें मज़बूती से जुड़ा हुआ बनाते हैं।

(O amulet,) with the seasons and the powers of the seasons we bind you, for long life and for splendour. With the brilliance of the year we make you firmly joined.

घृताद् उल्लुप्तम् मधुना समक्तं भूमिदृंहम् अच्युतम् पारयिष्णु ।भिन्दत् सपत्नान् अधरांश् च कृण्वद् आ मा रोह महते सौभगाय

घी से निकाली गई और मधु से लेपी गई, भूमि जैसी दृढ़, अटल और पार ले जाने वाली मणि, शत्रुओं को चीरती और नीचे गिराती हुई, बड़े सौभाग्य के लिए मुझ पर आरूढ़ हो।

Drawn out of ghee and anointed with honey, firm as the earth, unshakable and able to carry me through, splitting my rivals and putting them beneath me, mount upon me for great good fortune.
