इन्द्रः

यु॒ञ्जन्ति॑ ब्र॒ध्नम॑रु॒षं चर॑न्तं॒ परि॑ त॒स्थुषः॑ ।रोच॑न्ते रोच॒ना दि॒वि

वे उस लाल-भूरे तेजस्वी (अश्व) को जोतते हैं, जो स्थिर रहने वाले लोकों के चारों ओर चलता रहता है; द्युलोक में ज्योतियाँ चमक उठती हैं।

They yoke the ruddy, reddish one who moves around those that stand still. The lights shine in heaven.

यु॒ञ्जन्त्य॑स्य॒ काम्या॒ हरी॒ विप॑क्षसा॒ रथे॑ ।शोणा॑ धृ॒ष्णू नृ॒वाह॑सा

इन्द्र के प्रिय दोनों हरि (घोड़े) रथ के दोनों ओर जोते जाते हैं — लाल रंग के, साहसी, और वीर को ले चलने वाले।

They yoke his two beloved fallow bays to the chariot, one on each side: the two chestnuts, bold, carrying the hero.

के॒तुं कृ॒ण्वन्न॑के॒तवे॒ पेशो॑ मर्या अपे॒शसे॑ ।समु॒षद्भि॑रजायथाः

हे मनुष्यो! जो चिह्नहीन था उसे चिह्न (केतु) और जो रूपहीन था उसे रूप देते हुए, हे इन्द्र, तुम उषाओं के साथ-साथ प्रकट हुए।

Making a beacon for what has no beacon, and form for the formless, O men, you were born together with the dawns.

आदह॑ स्व॒धामनु॒ पुन॑र्गर्भ॒त्वमे॑रि॒रे ।दधा॑ना॒ नाम॑ य॒ज्ञिय॑म्

इसके बाद वे अपने स्वभाव के अनुसार फिर गर्भ-अवस्था में चले गए, और यज्ञ के योग्य नाम धारण किया।

Then, by their own nature, they took on the state of embryos again, assuming a name worthy of sacrifice.

वी॒ळु चि॑दारुज॒त्नुभि॒र्गुहा॑ चिदिन्द्र॒ वह्नि॑भिः ।अवि॑न्द उ॒स्रिया॒ अनु॑

हे इन्द्र! तोड़ डालने वाले और आगे ले चलने वाले साथियों के साथ तुमने दृढ़ (किले) को भी तोड़कर गुफा में छिपी हुई गौओं को ढूँढ़ निकाला।

With the breakers of even what is firm, and with the bearers, O Indra, you found the cows even in their hiding place.

दे॒व॒यन्तो॒ यथा॑ म॒तिमच्छा॑ वि॒दद्व॑सुं॒ गिरः॑ ।म॒हाम॑नूषत श्रु॒तम्

देवों की कामना करने वालों की स्तुतियाँ अपनी भावना के अनुसार धन देने वाले इन्द्र की ओर गई हैं; उन्होंने उस महान् और विख्यात इन्द्र की स्तुति की है।

The songs of those who seek the gods, following their inspired thought, have cried out to the great one, the famed finder of wealth.

इन्द्रे॑ण॒ सं हि दृक्ष॑से संजग्मा॒नो अबि॑भ्युषा ।म॒न्दू स॑मा॒नव॑र्चसा

तुम निर्भय इन्द्र के साथ मिलकर ही दिखाई देते हो; तुम दोनों आनन्द देने वाले और समान तेज वाले हो।

For you will be seen joined with Indra, the fearless one, as you come together with him: you two, delighting, of equal splendour.

अ॒न॒व॒द्यैर॒भिद्यु॑भिर्म॒खः सह॑स्वदर्चति ।ग॒णैरिन्द्र॑स्य॒ काम्यैः॑

निर्दोष, तेज की ओर बढ़ने वाले और इन्द्र के प्रिय गणों के साथ वह उत्साही (यजमान) बलपूर्वक स्तुति करता है।

With the faultless, heaven-aspiring troops dear to Indra, the sacrifice sings forcefully.

अतः॑ परिज्म॒न्ना ग॑हि दि॒वो वा॑ रोच॒नादधि॑ ।सम॑स्मिन्नृञ्जते॒ गिरः॑

हे सब ओर घूमने वाले (इन्द्र)! वहाँ से, अथवा द्युलोक के प्रकाशमय स्थान से यहाँ आओ; सारी स्तुतियाँ उसी की ओर दौड़ती हैं।

Come from there, you who circle around, or from the bright realm of heaven. In this one, the songs come together.

इ॒तो वा॑ सा॒तिमीम॑हे दि॒वो वा॒ पार्थि॑वा॒दधि॑ ।इन्द्रं॑ म॒हो वा॒ रज॑सः

हम इन्द्र से धन-लाभ की याचना करते हैं — चाहे वह यहाँ से हो, या द्युलोक से, या पार्थिव अन्तरिक्ष से, या विशाल रजस् (लोक) से।

From here, or from heaven, or from the earthly realm, or from the great expanse, we ask Indra for gain.
