इन्द्रः

यत्र॒ ग्रावा॑ पृ॒थुबु॑ध्न ऊ॒र्ध्वो भव॑ति॒ सोत॑वे ।उ॒लूख॑लसुताना॒मवेद्वि॑न्द्र जल्गुलः

जहाँ चौड़े तल वाला (सोम कूटने का) पत्थर निचोड़ने के लिए ऊपर उठाया जाता है — हे इन्द्र, ऊखल में निचोड़े गए उस सोम को तुम खूब पीओ।

Where the broad-based pressing stone is raised upright to press the soma, there, Indra, eagerly gulp down the drinks pressed in the mortar.

यत्र॒ द्वावि॑व ज॒घना॑धिषव॒ण्या॑ कृ॒ता ।उ॒लूख॑लसुताना॒मवेद्वि॑न्द्र जल्गुलः

जहाँ दो नितम्बों जैसे दोनों अधिषवण-फलक (सोम कूटने के तख्ते) बनाकर रखे गए हैं — हे इन्द्र, ऊखल में निचोड़े गए उस सोम को तुम खूब पीओ।

Where the two pressing boards are set out like a pair of thighs, there, Indra, eagerly gulp down the drinks pressed in the mortar.

यत्र॒ नार्य॑पच्य॒वमु॑पच्य॒वं च॒ शिक्ष॑ते ।उ॒लूख॑लसुताना॒मवेद्वि॑न्द्र जल्गुलः

जहाँ स्त्री (मूसल को) नीचे गिराना और ऊपर उठाना सीखती-करती है — हे इन्द्र, ऊखल में निचोड़े गए उस सोम को तुम खूब पीओ।

Where the woman practises the motion out and the motion in, there, Indra, eagerly gulp down the drinks pressed in the mortar.

यत्र॒ मन्थां॑ विब॒ध्नते॑ र॒श्मीन्यमि॑त॒वा इ॑व ।उ॒लूख॑लसुताना॒मवेद्वि॑न्द्र जल्गुलः

जहाँ मूसल को इस तरह कसकर बाँधते हैं जैसे (घोड़ों को) वश में रखने के लिए लगामें बाँधी जाती हैं — हे इन्द्र, ऊखल में निचोड़े गए उस सोम को तुम खूब पीओ।

Where they bind the churning stick with cords, like reins used to guide a horse, there, Indra, eagerly gulp down the drinks pressed in the mortar.

यच्चि॒द्धि त्वं गृ॒हेगृ॑ह॒ उलू॑खलक यु॒ज्यसे॑ ।इ॒ह द्यु॒मत्त॑मं वद॒ जय॑तामिव दुन्दु॒भिः

हे नन्हे ऊखल, तू घर-घर में काम में लाया जाता है; इसलिए यहाँ विजेताओं के दुन्दुभि की तरह सबसे ऊँचा शब्द कर।

Little mortar, though you are put to work in house after house, here sound out most brilliantly, like the drum of those who win.

उ॒त स्म॑ ते वनस्पते॒ वातो॒ वि वा॒त्यग्र॒मित् ।अथो॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ पात॑वे सु॒नु सोम॑मुलूखल

हे वनस्पति (काठ के ऊखल), तेरे ऊपरी सिरे पर हवा बहती है; तो अब, हे ऊखल, इन्द्र के पीने के लिए सोम निचोड़।

And, lord of the forest, the wind blows around your tip. Now, mortar, press the soma for Indra to drink.

आ॒य॒जी वा॑ज॒सात॑मा॒ ता ह्यु१॒॑च्चा वि॑जर्भृ॒तः ।हरी॑ इ॒वान्धां॑सि॒ बप्स॑ता

यज्ञ में लगे हुए और सबसे अधिक अन्न-धन दिलाने वाले वे दोनों (ऊखल और मूसल) ऊपर की ओर ज़ोर-ज़ोर से उठते-गिरते हैं, मानो दो घोड़े चारा चबा रहे हों।

These two worthy of offering, the best winners of prizes, open their jaws wide upward, like two fallow horses chewing their fodder.

ता नो॑ अ॒द्य व॑नस्पती ऋ॒ष्वावृ॒ष्वेभिः॑ सो॒तृभिः॑ ।इन्द्रा॑य॒ मधु॑मत्सुतम्

हे वन से बने उन दोनों ऊँचे (उपकरणो), आज ऊँचे सोम निचोड़ने वालों के साथ मिलकर हमारे लिए इन्द्र के वास्ते मधुर सोम निचोड़ो।

Today, you two lofty lords of the forest, together with lofty pressers, press for Indra our honeyed soma.

उच्छि॒ष्टं च॒म्वो॑र्भर॒ सोमं॑ प॒वित्र॒ आ सृ॑ज ।नि धे॑हि॒ गोरधि॑ त्व॒चि

दोनों चमू-पात्रों में बचा हुआ सोम उठा ले, उसे छानने के पवित्र (ऊन) पर डाल, और गाय के चमड़े पर रख दे।

Bring out what is left in the two bowls and pour the soma onto the filter. Set it down on the cowhide.
