सोमपान के लिए इन्द्र का आह्वानInviting Indra to the soma

आ तू न इन्द्र मद्र्य᳙ग् घुवानः सोमपीतये ।हरिभ्यां याह्य् अद्रिवः

हे पत्थर (वज्र) धारण करने वाले इन्द्र, बुलाए जाने पर तुम सोम पीने के लिए अपने दो हरि घोड़ों के साथ हमारे पास, मेरी ओर आओ।

Indra, wielder of the stone, now that you have been called, drive here toward me with your two fallow bays to drink the soma.

सत्तो होता न ऋत्वियस् तिस्तिरे बर्हिर् आनुषक् ।अयुज्रन् प्रातर् अद्रयः

हमारा ऋतु के अनुसार यज्ञ करने वाला होता बैठ गया है, बर्हि (कुशा) क्रम से बिछा दी गई है, और प्रातःकाल सोम कूटने के पत्थर जोत दिए गए हैं।

Our hotar, who sacrifices at the proper season, has taken his seat; the barhis has been spread in due order; at dawn the pressing stones were set to work.

इमा ब्रह्म ब्रह्मवाहः क्रियन्त आ बर्हिः सीद ।वीहि शूर पुरोलाशम्

हे स्तुतियों से लाए जाने वाले, ये स्तुति-वचन (ब्रह्म) रचे जा रहे हैं; बर्हि पर आकर बैठो। हे वीर, पुरोडाश का आनन्द लो।

You who are drawn by sacred formulations, these formulations are being made: come and sit on the barhis. Hero, enjoy the sacrificial cake.

रारन्धि सवनेषु ण एषु स्तोमेषु वृत्रहन् ।उक्थेष्व् इन्द्र गिर्वणः

हे वृत्र को मारने वाले, स्तुतियों के प्रेमी इन्द्र, हमारे इन सोम-सवनों में, इन स्तोमों में और उक्थों में आनन्द लो।

Vritra-slayer, Indra who loves songs, take pleasure in these pressings of ours, in these praise-songs and recitations.

मतयः सोमपाम् उरुं रिहन्ति शवसस् पतिम् ।इन्द्रं वत्सं न मातरः

हमारी स्तुतियाँ विशाल सोमपायी, बल के स्वामी इन्द्र को वैसे ही चाटती हैं जैसे माताएँ (गायें) बछड़े को चाटती हैं।

Our thoughts lick the broad soma-drinker, the lord of strength, Indra, as mother cows lick a calf.

स मन्दस्वा ह्य् अन्धसो राधसे तन्वा᳙ महे ।न स्तोतारं निदे करः

तुम अपने शरीर से इस सोम-रस का आनन्द लेकर महान दान के लिए उत्साहित हो; स्तुति करने वाले को निन्दा का पात्र न बनाओ।

Be exhilarated by the soma juice, in your own body, for great generosity; do not hand your praiser over to scorn.

वयम् इन्द्र त्वायवो हविष्मन्तो जरामहे ।उत त्वम् अस्मयुर् वसो

हे इन्द्र, हम तुम्हें चाहते हुए, हवि लेकर तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं; और हे वसु (उत्तम), तुम भी हमें चाहो।

Indra, longing for you and bringing oblations, we sing your praise; and you, good one, long for us in return.

मारे अस्मद् वि मुमुचो हरिप्रियार्वाङ् याहि ।इन्द्र स्वधावो मत्स्वेह

हमसे दूर अपने घोड़ों को मत खोलो; हे हरि घोड़ों के प्रेमी, इधर आओ। हे स्वधा (अपनी शक्ति) वाले इन्द्र, यहीं आनन्दित हो।

Do not unyoke your horses far from us; come this way, lover of the fallow bays. Indra, self-reliant one, become exhilarated here.

अर्वाञ्चं त्वा सुखे रथे वहताम् इन्द्र केशिना ।घृतस्नू बर्हिर् आसदे

हे इन्द्र, घी टपकाते हुए दो लम्बे अयाल वाले घोड़े तुम्हें सुखद रथ में बर्हि पर बैठने के लिए इधर लाएँ।

Indra, may the two long-maned horses, dripping with ghee, carry you here in a comfortable chariot to sit on the barhis.
