अग्निः

अग्ने॑ पावक रो॒चिषा॑ म॒न्द्रया॑ देव जि॒ह्वया॑ ।आ दे॒वान्व॑क्षि॒ यक्षि॑ च

हे पावक अग्नि! हे देव! अपनी ज्योति और अपनी आनन्द देने वाली जिह्वा से देवों को यहाँ ले आओ और उनका यजन भी करो।

Agni, purifying god, with your brilliance and your gladdening tongue bring the gods here, and offer worship to them.

तं त्वा॑ घृतस्नवीमहे॒ चित्र॑भानो स्व॒र्दृश॑म् ।दे॒वाँ आ वी॒तये॑ वह

हे घृत से सिंची हुई ज्वाला वाले, हे विचित्र तेज वाले अग्नि! स्वर्ग के दर्शक उस तुमसे हम याचना करते हैं — देवों को हवि के भोग के लिए यहाँ ले आओ।

You whose back drips with ghee, bright-rayed one who sees the sun, we entreat you: bring the gods here to enjoy the offering.

वी॒तिहो॑त्रं त्वा कवे द्यु॒मन्तं॒ समि॑धीमहि ।अग्ने॑ बृ॒हन्त॑मध्व॒रे

हे कवि अग्नि! यज्ञ में हम तुम्हें प्रज्वलित करते हैं — तुम हवियों को पहुँचाने वाले, तेजस्वी और महान हो।

Poet, we kindle you, Agni, at the rite: you who pursue the oblation, brilliant and lofty.

अग्ने॒ विश्वे॑भि॒रा ग॑हि दे॒वेभि॑र्ह॒व्यदा॑तये ।होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे

हे अग्नि! सब देवों के साथ हवि ग्रहण करने के लिए यहाँ आओ; हम तुम्हें होता के रूप में चुनते हैं।

Agni, come with all the gods to receive the offerings. We choose you as our hotar.

यज॑मानाय सुन्व॒त आग्ने॑ सु॒वीर्यं॑ वह ।दे॒वैरा स॑त्सि ब॒र्हिषि॑

हे अग्नि! सोम निकालने वाले यजमान के लिए उत्तम वीर्य (बल और वीर सन्तान) ले आओ; देवों के साथ बर्हिस् पर बैठो।

Agni, bring strength and fine sons to the sacrificer who presses soma. Sit down with the gods on the ritual grass.

स॒मि॒धा॒नः स॑हस्रजि॒दग्ने॒ धर्मा॑णि पुष्यसि ।दे॒वानां॑ दू॒त उ॒क्थ्यः॑

हे सहस्रों को जीतने वाले अग्नि! प्रज्वलित होकर तुम धर्मों (यज्ञ के विधि-नियमों) को पुष्ट करते हो; तुम देवों के दूत और स्तुति के योग्य हो।

Kindled, Agni, winner of thousands, you make the foundations of order prosper. You are the gods' messenger, worthy of hymns.

न्य१॒॑ग्निं जा॒तवे॑दसं होत्र॒वाहं॒ यवि॑ष्ठ्यम् ।दधा॑ता दे॒वमृ॒त्विज॑म्

(हे ऋत्विजो!) जातवेदस्, हवि को पहुँचाने वाले, नित्य तरुण, देव ऋत्विज् अग्नि को यहाँ स्थापित करो।

Set down Agni Jatavedas, who carries the offering, the youngest, the god, the priest who sacrifices at the proper season.

प्र य॒ज्ञ ए॑त्वानु॒षग॒द्या दे॒वव्य॑चस्तमः ।स्तृ॒णी॒त ब॒र्हिरा॒सदे॑

आज यह यज्ञ निर्विघ्न आगे बढ़े — यह देवों को सबसे अधिक स्थान देने वाला है; उनके बैठने के लिए बर्हिस् बिछाओ।

Let the sacrifice go forward today without a break, opening widest to the gods. Spread the ritual grass for them to sit on.

एदं म॒रुतो॑ अ॒श्विना॑ मि॒त्रः सी॑दन्तु॒ वरु॑णः ।दे॒वासः॒ सर्व॑या वि॒शा

मरुत्, अश्विन्, मित्र और वरुण यहाँ बैठें — सभी देव अपने पूरे गण के साथ (बैठें)।

Let the Maruts, the Ashvins, Mitra and Varuna sit down here: the gods, with their whole company.
