विश्वे देवाः

न ता मि॑नन्ति मा॒यिनो॒ न धीरा॑ व्र॒ता दे॒वानां॑ प्रथ॒मा ध्रु॒वाणि॑ ।न रोद॑सी अ॒द्रुहा॑ वे॒द्याभि॒र्न पर्व॑ता नि॒नमे॑ तस्थि॒वांसः॑

माया रचने वाले भी और धीर बुद्धिमान् भी देवों के उन पहले, अटल व्रतों को तोड़ नहीं सकते। न द्रोहरहित द्यावापृथिवी अपनी ज्ञेय शक्तियों से, न अटल खड़े पर्वत उन व्रतों को झुका सकते हैं।

Neither the cunning nor the wise can break these first, fixed commandments of the gods. Neither the two guileless world-halves with what they hold, nor the mountains standing firm, can be bowed down.

षड्भा॒राँ एको॒ अच॑रन्बिभर्त्यृ॒तं वर्षि॑ष्ठ॒मुप॒ गाव॒ आगुः॑ ।ति॒स्रो म॒हीरुप॑रास्तस्थु॒रत्या॒ गुहा॒ द्वे निहि॑ते॒ दर्श्येका॑

वह एक ही, बिना चले स्थिर रहकर, छह भार धारण करता है; गौएँ सर्वोच्च ऋत की ओर गई हैं। तीन महान् वेगवती (देवियाँ) समीप ठहरी हैं — उनमें दो गुप्त रखी गई हैं, एक ही दिखाई देती है।

The One, without moving, carries six burdens; the cows have come up to the highest truth (ṛta). Three great ones stand there, the nearer ones, like coursers; two are hidden in secret, and one is visible.

त्रि॒पा॒ज॒स्यो वृ॑ष॒भो वि॒श्वरू॑प उ॒त त्र्यु॒धा पु॑रु॒ध प्र॒जावा॑न् ।त्र्य॒नी॒कः प॑त्यते॒ माहि॑नावा॒न्स रे॑तो॒धा वृ॑ष॒भः शश्व॑तीनाम्

तीन प्रकार के बल वाला, सब रूप धारण करने वाला वह वृषभ तीन थनों वाला, अनेक स्थानों में फैला और बहुत सन्तान वाला है। तीन मुखों वाला वह महिमावान् स्वामी है, वही सब नित्य (स्त्रियों) में बीज रखने वाला वृषभ है।

The bull with three bellies, of every form, with three udders as well, with offspring in many places, three-faced and full of greatness, rules as lord; he is the bull who places seed in the countless (cows).

अ॒भीक॑ आसां पद॒वीर॑बोध्यादि॒त्याना॑मह्वे॒ चारु॒ नाम॑ ।आप॑श्चिदस्मा अरमन्त दे॒वीः पृथ॒ग्व्रज॑न्तीः॒ परि॑ षीमवृञ्जन्

निर्णायक क्षण में इनका मार्गदर्शक जाग उठा; मैंने आदित्यों के प्रिय नाम का आह्वान किया। दिव्य जल भी उसके लिए ठहर गए, और अलग-अलग बहती हुई वे उसे चारों ओर से घेरकर चलीं।

Close to them he has been awakened as their guide along the track; I have called on the lovely name of the Ādityas. Even the divine waters held still for him; though going their separate ways, they surrounded him.

त्री ष॒धस्था॑ सिन्धव॒स्त्रिः क॑वी॒नामु॒त त्रि॑मा॒ता वि॒दथे॑षु स॒म्राट् ।ऋ॒ताव॑री॒र्योष॑णास्ति॒स्रो अप्या॒स्त्रिरा दि॒वो वि॒दथे॒ पत्य॑मानाः

तीन स्थान हैं, तीन सिन्धु, और कवियों के तीन (स्थान); तीन माताओं वाला वह यज्ञसभाओं में सम्राट् है। ऋत को धारण करने वाली, जल से जुड़ी तीन युवतियाँ तीन बार द्युलोक से आकर यज्ञ में अधिकार रखती हैं।

Three are the seats, O rivers, and three times over those of the poets; and the one with three mothers is sovereign at the ritual gatherings. Three truthful young women of the waters come three times from heaven, ruling at the ritual gathering.

त्रिरा दि॒वः स॑वित॒र्वार्या॑णि दि॒वेदि॑व॒ आ सु॑व॒ त्रिर्नो॒ अह्नः॑ ।त्रि॒धातु॑ रा॒य आ सु॑वा॒ वसू॑नि॒ भग॑ त्रातर्धिषणे सा॒तये॑ धाः

हे सवितृ! द्युलोक से दिन में तीन बार, प्रतिदिन, हमें वरणीय वस्तुएँ भेजो। तीन प्रकार का धन और सम्पत्तियाँ हमारी ओर प्रेरित करो; हे भग, हे रक्षक, हे धिषणा — हमें लाभ के लिए वह सब दो।

Three times from heaven, Savitar, day after day, bring desirable things to us, three times each day. Bring us wealth and goods in threefold measure; O Bhaga, O protector, O Dhiṣaṇā, set us up for winning.

त्रिरा दि॒वः स॑वि॒ता सो॑षवीति॒ राजा॑ना मि॒त्रावरु॑णा सुपा॒णी ।आप॑श्चिदस्य॒ रोद॑सी चिदु॒र्वी रत्नं॑ भिक्षन्त सवि॒तुः स॒वाय॑

दिन में तीन बार सवितृ (सबको) प्रेरित करता है, और सुन्दर हाथों वाले दोनों राजा मित्र और वरुण भी। जल भी और विस्तृत द्यावापृथिवी भी सवितृ की प्रेरणा से मिलने वाले रत्न की याचना करते हैं।

Three times from heaven Savitar keeps sending forth, and so do the kings Mitra and Varuṇa with their lovely hands. Even the waters and even the two wide world-halves beg for treasure at Savitar's impulse.

त्रिरु॑त्त॒मा दू॒णशा॑ रोच॒नानि॒ त्रयो॑ राज॒न्त्यसु॑रस्य वी॒राः ।ऋ॒तावा॑न इषि॒रा दू॒ळभा॑स॒स्त्रिरा दि॒वो वि॒दथे॑ सन्तु दे॒वाः

तीन परम, दुर्गम ज्योतिर्लोक हैं; उस असुर के तीन वीर वहाँ शासन करते हैं। ऋत वाले, वेगवान् और न ठगे जा सकने वाले वे देव दिन में तीन बार हमारे यज्ञ में उपस्थित हों।

Three are the highest realms of light, hard to reach; three heroes of the Asura reign. May the gods, truthful, vigorous and not to be deceived, be present at our ritual gathering three times from heaven.
