इन्द्रः त्रिष्टुप्

पिबा॒ सोमं॑ मह॒त इ॑न्द्रि॒याय॒ पिबा॑ वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे शविष्ठ ।पिब॑ रा॒ये शव॑से हू॒यमा॑नः॒ पिब॒ मध्व॑स्तृ॒पदि॒न्द्रा वृ॑षस्व

हे अत्यन्त बलशाली इन्द्र, अपनी महान शक्ति के लिए सोम पी, वृत्र को मारने के लिए पी। बुलाए जाने पर धन और बल के लिए पी; हे इन्द्र, इस मधु को तृप्ति तक पी और जी भर कर अपने भीतर उँडेल।

Drink the soma for great Indra-strength; drink it to smash Vritra, mightiest one. Drink for wealth and power when you are called; drink the honey, Indra, and, satisfied, rain down.

अ॒स्य पि॑ब क्षु॒मतः॒ प्रस्थि॑त॒स्येन्द्र॒ सोम॑स्य॒ वर॒मा सु॒तस्य॑ ।स्व॒स्ति॒दा मन॑सा मादयस्वार्वाची॒नो रे॒वते॒ सौभ॑गाय

हे इन्द्र, सामने रखे हुए, निचोड़े हुए, पुष्टिकारक इस सोम का श्रेष्ठ भाग पी। कल्याण देने वाले तू प्रसन्न मन से आनन्दित हो, और हमारी ओर मुड़कर हमें प्रचुर सौभाग्य दे।

Drink, Indra, of this nourishing soma that has been set before you, the choicest of what has been pressed. Giver of well-being, delight your heart, and turn toward us for rich good fortune.

म॒मत्तु॑ त्वा दि॒व्यः सोम॑ इन्द्र म॒मत्तु॒ यः सू॒यते॒ पार्थि॑वेषु ।म॒मत्तु॒ येन॒ वरि॑वश्च॒कर्थ॑ म॒मत्तु॒ येन॑ निरि॒णासि॒ शत्रू॑न्

हे इन्द्र, दिव्य सोम तुझे मत्त करे, और जो पृथ्वी पर (मनुष्यों में) निचोड़ा जाता है वह भी तुझे मत्त करे। वह सोम तुझे मत्त करे जिससे तूने (हमें) खुली जगह दी, वह तुझे मत्त करे जिससे तू शत्रुओं को नष्ट करता है।

Let the heavenly soma intoxicate you, Indra; let the soma pressed among earthly people intoxicate you. Let that soma intoxicate you by which you made wide space, and that by which you scatter your enemies.

आ द्वि॒बर्हा॑ अमि॒नो या॒त्विन्द्रो॒ वृषा॒ हरि॑भ्यां॒ परि॑षिक्त॒मन्धः॑ ।गव्या सु॒तस्य॒ प्रभृ॑तस्य॒ मध्वः॑ स॒त्रा खेदा॑मरुश॒हा वृ॑षस्व

दोनों ओर से बलवान, अजेय, वृषभ-समान इन्द्र अपने दो हरि घोड़ों के साथ उस छने हुए सोमरस के पास आए। दूध मिले, निचोड़े हुए, सामने लाए गए इस मधु को वह पूरी तरह पी ले — हे अरुश के हन्ता, बलपूर्वक (उसे अपने भीतर) उँडेल।

Let Indra come, twice mighty and unyielding, the bull, with his two fawn horses, to the juice poured all around. Take your fill of the honey, pressed, mixed with milk and brought forward; slayer of Arusha, rain down your hammer once and for all.

नि ति॒ग्मानि॑ भ्रा॒शय॒न्भ्राश्या॒न्यव॑ स्थि॒रा त॑नुहि यातु॒जूना॑म् ।उ॒ग्राय॑ ते॒ सहो॒ बलं॑ ददामि प्र॒तीत्या॒ शत्रू॑न्विग॒देषु॑ वृश्च

चमकते हुए तीखे शस्त्रों को नीचे गिराते हुए, राक्षसों से प्रेरित लोगों के कसे हुए धनुष ढीले कर दे। उग्र तुझको मैं सहनशक्ति और बल अर्पित करता हूँ; शत्रुओं का सामना करके उन्हें संघर्षों में काट डाल।

Bring down the sharp weapons that need to be brought down, and slacken the firm bows of those driven by sorcerers. To you, the fierce one, I give overpowering strength and force: go out against the enemies and cut them down in the tumult of battle.

व्य१॒॑र्य इ॑न्द्र तनुहि॒ श्रवां॒स्योजः॑ स्थि॒रेव॒ धन्व॑नोऽ॒भिमा॑तीः ।अ॒स्म॒द्र्य॑ग्वावृधा॒नः सहो॑भि॒रनि॑भृष्टस्त॒न्वं॑ वावृधस्व

हे इन्द्र, शत्रु की कीर्ति और बल को छिन्न-भिन्न कर दे, उसके आक्रमणों को वैसे ही ढीला कर दे जैसे धनुष की कसी हुई डोरी। हमारी ओर मुड़कर अपनी शक्तियों से बढ़ता हुआ, अपराजित तू अपने शरीर को और बढ़ा।

Indra, unstring the fame and might of the stranger, like the taut strings of a bow, and unstring the hostile ones. Turned toward us, growing strong through your powers, unbowed, make your body grow.

इ॒दं ह॒विर्म॑घव॒न्तुभ्यं॑ रा॒तं प्रति॑ सम्रा॒ळहृ॑णानो गृभाय ।तुभ्यं॑ सु॒तो म॑घव॒न्तुभ्यं॑ प॒क्वो॒३ऽ॒॑द्धी॑न्द्र॒ पिब॑ च॒ प्रस्थि॑तस्य

हे मघवन्, यह हवि तुझे दी गई है; हे सम्राट्, बिना रुष्ट हुए इसे ग्रहण कर। हे मघवन्, तेरे ही लिए सोम निचोड़ा गया और तेरे ही लिए हवि पकाई गई — हे इन्द्र, खा, और सामने रखे हुए सोम को पी।

This oblation has been given to you, Maghavan; accept it, sovereign king, without anger. For you, Maghavan, the soma is pressed, for you the food is cooked: eat, Indra, and drink what has been set before you.

अ॒द्धीदि॑न्द्र॒ प्रस्थि॑ते॒मा ह॒वींषि॒ चनो॑ दधिष्व पच॒तोत सोम॑म् ।प्रय॑स्वन्तः॒ प्रति॑ हर्यामसि त्वा स॒त्याः स॑न्तु॒ यज॑मानस्य॒ कामाः॑

हे इन्द्र, सामने रखी इन हविओं को खा; पकाए हुए पुरोडाश और सोम में प्रसन्नता पा। हम भोजन लिए हुए तेरा स्वागत करते हैं — यजमान की कामनाएँ सत्य हों।

Eat, Indra, these oblations set before you; enjoy the cooked food and the soma. Bringing offerings of food, we welcome you: may the desires of the sacrificer come true.

प्रेन्द्रा॒ग्निभ्यां॑ सुवच॒स्यामि॑यर्मि॒ सिन्धा॑विव॒ प्रेर॑यं॒ नाव॑म॒र्कैः ।अया॑ इव॒ परि॑ चरन्ति दे॒वा ये अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ धन॒दा उ॒द्भिद॑श्च

इन्द्र और अग्नि के लिए मैं सुन्दर स्तुति भेजता हूँ, और अपने मन्त्रों से उसे वैसे आगे बढ़ाता हूँ जैसे नदी में नाव। जो देव हमें धन देने वाले और (बाधाओं को) तोड़कर प्रकट होने वाले हैं, वे चलते हुए-से हमारे चारों ओर विचरते हैं।

I send fine speech forward to Indra and Agni; with songs I have pushed it on like a boat on a river. Like attendants, the gods move around us, those who give us wealth and break things open for us.
