इन्द्र की स्तुति और सोम-निमन्त्रणPraise of Indra, invitation to soma

महाꣳ इन्द्रः परश् च नु महित्वम् अस्तु वज्रिणे ।द्यौर् न प्रथिना शवः

इन्द्र महान है, और उससे भी बढ़कर; वज्रधारी की महिमा बनी रहे। उसका बल द्यौ के समान विस्तार में फैला है।

Indra is great, and greater still; may greatness belong to the vajra-bearer. His might is as broad as heaven.

समोहे वा य आशत नरस् तोकस्य सनितौ ।विप्रासो वा धियायवः

जो पुरुष युद्ध में या सन्तान की प्राप्ति के समय उसे पा लेते हैं, या जो विप्र बुद्धि (प्रेरणा) की कामना करते हैं — (वे सब इन्द्र की ओर ही आते हैं)।

Those men who win him in battle or in the gaining of offspring, or the inspired poets seeking insight — (all turn to Indra).

यः कुक्षिः सोमपातमः समुद्र इव पिन्वते ।उर्वीर् आपो न काकुदः

उसका पेट, जो सबसे अधिक सोम पीने वाला है, समुद्र की तरह फूलता है, जैसे तालु से (निकले) विस्तृत जल।

His belly, the greatest drinker of soma, swells like the sea, like the broad waters from the palate.

एवा ह्य् अ᳙स्य सून्ŕ̥ता विरप्शी गोमती मही ।पक्वा शाखा न दाशुषे

सचमुच उसकी उदार, भरपूर, गौओं से युक्त, महान दानशीलता दाता (यजमान) के लिए पके फलों वाली डाली के समान है।

Truly his generosity — abundant, rich in cattle, great — is like a branch of ripe fruit for the worshipper.

एवा हि ते विभूतय ऊतय इन्द्र मावते ।सद्यश् चित् सन्ति दाशुषे

हे इन्द्र, सचमुच तुम्हारी विभूतियाँ और सहायताएँ मेरे जैसे दाता के लिए तुरन्त उपस्थित होती हैं।

Indeed, Indra, your powers and your aids are at once present for a worshipper like me.

एवा ह्य् अ᳙स्य काम्या स्तोम उक्थं च शंस्या ।इन्द्राय सोमपीतये

सचमुच उसके लिए प्रिय स्तोम और उक्थ, सोम पीने के हेतु इन्द्र के लिए गाए जाने योग्य हैं।

Indeed, for him the welcome praise-song and hymn are to be recited, for Indra to drink the soma.

इन्द्रेहि मत्स्य् अन्धसो विश्वेभिः सोमपर्वभिः ।महाꣳ अभिष्टिर् ओजसा

हे इन्द्र, आओ, सोम के सभी भागों के साथ इस रस से तृप्त होओ — तुम महान हो, अपने ओज से विजयी।

Come, Indra, take delight in the juice with all the portions of soma — you who are great and overpowering in strength.

एम् एनं सृजता सुते मन्दिम् इन्द्राय मन्दिने ।चक्रिं विश्वानि चक्रये

(अब ऋत्विजों से:) सोम निचोड़ने पर इस मादक रस को आनन्दित होने वाले इन्द्र के लिए ढालो — सब कुछ करने वाले के लिए कार्यसाधक (रस)।

(To the priests:) When it is pressed, pour out this gladdening drink for Indra who delights in it — an effective drink for the one who does all things.

मत्स्वा सुशिप्र मन्दिभि स्तोमेभिर् विश्वचर्षणे ।सचैषु सवनेष्व् आ

(फिर इन्द्र से:) हे सुन्दर होठों वाले, सब लोगों के स्वामी, इन आनन्ददायक स्तोमों से तृप्त होओ; इन सवनों में साथ आओ।

(To Indra:) Rejoice, fair-lipped one, master of all peoples, in these gladdening praises; come and join us at these pressings.

असृग्रम् इन्द्र ते गिरः प्रति त्वाम् उद् अहासत ।अजोषा वृषभं पतिम्

हे इन्द्र, मैंने तुम्हारे लिए वाणियाँ छोड़ी हैं; वे तुम्हारी ओर उठ गई हैं, और उन्होंने तुम वृषभ स्वामी को प्रसन्न पाया है।

Indra, I have sent forth songs to you; they have risen up toward you and have found pleasure in you, the bull, the lord.

सम् चोदय चित्रम् अर्वाग् राध इन्द्र वरेण्यम् ।असद् इत् ते विभु प्रभु

हे इन्द्र, अद्भुत और श्रेष्ठ धन हमारी ओर प्रेरित करो; तुम्हारे पास वह विपुल और प्रचुर है ही।

Indra, send toward us bright and choice bounty; you surely have it, ample and abundant.

अस्मान्त् सु तत्र चोदयेन्द्र राये रभस्वतः ।तुविद्युम्न यशस्वतः

हे अत्यन्त तेजस्वी इन्द्र, उस (कार्य) में हम उत्साही और यशस्वी लोगों को धन की ओर भली-भाँति प्रेरित करो।

Indra, most splendid one, spur us on well there toward wealth, us who are eager and renowned.

सं गोमद् इन्द्र वाजवद् अस्मे पृथु श्रवो बृहत् ।विश्वायुर् धेह्य् अक्षितम्

हे इन्द्र, हम में गौओं और अन्न-बल से युक्त, विस्तृत, महान, पूरी आयु तक रहने वाला अक्षय यश स्थापित करो।

Indra, set in us fame rich in cattle and in vigour, broad and great, lasting a full life and unfailing.

अस्मे धेहि श्रवो बृहद् द्युम्नं सहस्रसातमम् ।इन्द्र ता रथिनीर् इषः

हे इन्द्र, हम में महान यश, हज़ारों को जीतने वाली दीप्ति, और वे रथों से युक्त अन्न-सम्पदाएँ स्थापित करो।

Set in us great fame, Indra, and splendour that wins thousands, and those nourishments that come with chariots.

वसोर् इन्द्रम् वसुपतिं गीर्भिर् गृणन्त ऋग्मियम् ।होम गन्तारम् ऊतये

धन के लिए, धन के स्वामी, ऋचाओं के योग्य इन्द्र की वाणियों से स्तुति करते हुए हम उसे बुलाते हैं, जो सहायता के लिए आता है।

Praising with songs Indra, lord of wealth, worthy of verses, we call him for wealth — him who comes to help.

सुतेसुते न्यो᳙कसे बृहद् बृहत एद् अरिः ।इन्द्राय शूषम् अर्चति

हर सवन पर, अपने स्थान में रहने वाले महान इन्द्र के लिए 'अरि' महान और बलवान स्तुति गाता है।

At every pressing, the ari sings a great, forceful song to great Indra, who has his settled home there.
