इन्द्र से सहायता की प्रार्थनाCalling Indra for aid and victory

विश्वेषु हि त्वा सवनेषु तुञ्जते समानम् एकं व्ŕ̥षमण्यवः प्ŕ̥थक् स्वः᳙ सनिष्यवः प्ŕ̥थक् ।तं त्वा नावं न पर्षणिं शूषस्य धुरि धीमहि ।इन्द्रं न यज्ञैश् चतयन्त आयव स्तोमेभिर् इन्द्रम् आयवः

हे इन्द्र, सब सोम-सवनों में बैल जैसे उत्साह वाले लोग तुम एक ही (सबके साझे) को अलग-अलग प्रेरित करते हैं; वे अलग-अलग स्वः (प्रकाश) पाना चाहते हैं। पार ले जाने वाली नाव की तरह हम तुम्हें बल के धुरे पर रखते हैं; मनुष्य यज्ञों से और स्तोत्रों से इन्द्र को (अपनी ओर) सचेत करते हैं।

In every soma pressing, Indra, the bull-spirited urge you on, the one shared by all, each on his own, each eager to win the sun for himself. We set you, like a ship that carries us across, at the yoke-pole of strength; men make Indra take notice with sacrifices, with praise songs make Indra take notice.

वि त्वा ततस्रे मिथुना अवस्यवो व्रजस्य साता गव्यस्य निःस्ŕ̥जः सक्षन्त इन्द्र निःस्ŕ̥जः ।यद् गव्यन्ता द्वा जना स्व᳙र् यन्ता समूहसि ।आविष् करिक्रद् व्ŕ̥षणं सचाभुवं वज्रम् इन्द्र सचाभुवम्

हे इन्द्र, सहायता चाहने वाले जोड़े गायों के बाड़े को जीतने में तुम्हें अपनी-अपनी ओर खींचते हैं; गायों को छुड़ाने वाले तुम तक पहुँचते हैं। जब गायें चाहने वाले, स्वः की ओर बढ़ते दो जन-समूहों को तुम आमने-सामने लाते हो, तब तुम अपने साथी, बलवान वज्र को गर्जन करते हुए प्रकट करते हो।

Pairs seeking your help pull you this way and that, Indra, in winning the cattle pen; those who would set the cows free reach you, Indra, the ones who set them free. When you bring together two peoples who seek cattle and strive for the sun, you roar and reveal the bull-strong vajra, your constant companion, Indra, your constant companion.

उतो नो अस्या उषसो जुषेत ह्य् अ᳙र्कस्य बोधि हविषो हवीमभिः स्व᳙र्षाता हवीमभिः ।यद् इन्द्र हन्तवे म्ŕ̥घो व्ŕ̥षा वज्रिं चिकेतसि ।आ मे अस्य वेधसो नवीयसो मन्म श्रुधि नवीयसः

और इस उषा के समय हमारे (यज्ञ) का आनन्द लो; पुकारों के साथ, स्वः की जीत के लिए की गई पुकारों के साथ, हमारे गान और हवि पर ध्यान दो। हे वज्रधारी, बलवान इन्द्र, जब तुम शत्रुओं को मारने का निश्चय करते हो, तब मुझ नए रचयिता का यह नया विचार (स्तोत्र) सुनो।

And enjoy this dawn of ours; take note of our chant and oblation through our calls, our calls at the winning of the sun. When you, Indra, the bull, the vajra-bearer, set your mind on slaying the scorners, hear the thought of me, this newer poet, this newer one.
