प्र सोमा॑सो मद॒च्युतः॒ श्रव॑से नो म॒घोनः॑ ।सु॒ता वि॒दथे॑ अक्रमुः

मद बरसाने वाले सोम-रस निचोड़े जाकर यज्ञ-सभा में आगे बढ़े हैं — हम दानशील यजमानों की कीर्ति के लिए।

The soma juices, which set the exhilaration flowing, have gone forward, pressed at the ritual gathering, to bring fame to us, the generous patrons.

आदीं॑ त्रि॒तस्य॒ योष॑णो॒ हरिं॑ हिन्व॒न्त्यद्रि॑भिः ।इन्दु॒मिन्द्रा॑य पी॒तये॑

तब त्रित की युवतियाँ पत्थरों से उस हरे (सोम) को प्रेरित करती हैं — इन्द्र के पीने के लिए उस इन्दु को।

Then the maidens of Trita drive the tawny one onward with the pressing stones: the drop, for Indra to drink.

आदीं॑ हं॒सो यथा॑ ग॒णं विश्व॑स्यावीवशन्म॒तिम् ।अत्यो॒ न गोभि॑रज्यते

तब, जैसे हंस अपने झुंड को पुकारता है, उसने सबकी स्तुति को गुँजा दिया; और घुड़दौड़ के घोड़े की तरह वह दूध से सँवारा जाता है।

Then, as a gander rouses its flock, he has stirred everyone's poetic thought to cry out. Like a racehorse, he is anointed with cows.

उ॒भे सो॑माव॒चाक॑शन्मृ॒गो न त॒क्तो अ॑र्षसि ।सीद॑न्नृ॒तस्य॒ योनि॒मा

हे सोम, दोनों (लोकों) को नीचे ताकते हुए तुम झपटते मृग की तरह बहते हो, और ऋत के स्थान पर जा बैठते हो।

Soma, looking down on both worlds, you rush like a wild animal in flight, settling in the womb of truth.

अ॒भि गावो॑ अनूषत॒ योषा॑ जा॒रमि॑व प्रि॒यम् ।अग॑न्ना॒जिं यथा॑ हि॒तम्

गौएँ (दूध की धाराएँ) उसकी ओर गूँज उठीं, जैसे युवती अपने प्रिय के पास; और वह ठहरी हुई दौड़ में पहुँच गया।

The cows have bellowed out toward him, as a young woman calls to her dear lover. He has come as if to a race that has been set.

अ॒स्मे धे॑हि द्यु॒मद्यशो॑ म॒घव॑द्भ्यश्च॒ मह्यं॑ च ।स॒निं मे॒धामु॒त श्रवः॑

हमें तेजस्वी यश दे — दानशील यजमानों को और मुझे भी; लाभ, बुद्धि और कीर्ति दे।

Give us brilliant glory, both to the patrons and to me: winnings, wisdom, and fame.
