पवमान: सोम:

तम॑मृक्षन्त वा॒जिन॑मु॒पस्थे॒ अदि॑ते॒रधि॑ ।विप्रा॑सो॒ अण्व्या॑ धि॒या

उस वेगवान् (सोम) को विप्रों ने अदिति की गोद में सूक्ष्म बुद्धि से माँज-धोकर स्वच्छ किया।

The inspired poets, with fine-spun insight, groomed that prize-winning steed in the lap of Aditi.

तं गावो॑ अ॒भ्य॑नूषत स॒हस्र॑धार॒मक्षि॑तम् ।इन्दुं॑ ध॒र्तार॒मा दि॒वः

सहस्र धाराओं वाले, अक्षय इन्दु (सोम) के लिए, जो द्युलोक को धारण करने वाला है, गौओं ने (दूध के साथ मिलते हुए) स्तुति-ध्वनि की।

The cows lowed toward him: the thousand-streamed, inexhaustible drop (Indu), the upholder of heaven.

तं वे॒धां मे॒धया॑ह्य॒न्पव॑मान॒मधि॒ द्यवि॑ ।ध॒र्ण॒सिं भूरि॑धायसम्

उस विधाता पवमान को, जो दृढ़ धारण करने वाला और बहुतों का पोषक है, उन्होंने अपनी प्रज्ञा से द्युलोक की ओर प्रेरित किया।

With wisdom they sent forth that master of ritual, the self-purifying one (Pavamana), up to heaven: the foundation, the one who sustains many.

तम॑ह्यन्भु॒रिजो॑र्धि॒या सं॒वसा॑नं वि॒वस्व॑तः ।पतिं॑ वा॒चो अदा॑भ्यम्

दोनों हाथों (की उँगलियों) ने प्रज्ञा के साथ उसे प्रेरित किया — उस विवस्वत् के साथ निवास करने वाले, वाणी के स्वामी, अजेय सोम को।

By the skill of the two arms they sent him forth, the one who dwells with Vivasvant, the lord of speech who cannot be deceived.

तं साना॒वधि॑ जा॒मयो॒ हरिं॑ हिन्व॒न्त्यद्रि॑भिः ।ह॒र्य॒तं भूरि॑चक्षसम्

ऊँचे फलक पर बहनें (उँगलियाँ) पत्थरों से उस हरित, कामना-योग्य, बहुतों को दिखाई देने वाले सोम को प्रेरित करती हैं।

On the summit, the sisters drive the tawny one with the pressing stones: the delightful one, the one who sees far and wide.

तं त्वा॑ हिन्वन्ति वे॒धसः॒ पव॑मान गिरा॒वृध॑म् ।इन्द॒विन्द्रा॑य मत्स॒रम्

हे पवमान, विधाता (ऋत्विज्) तुझे प्रेरित करते हैं — स्तुतियों से बढ़ने वाले तुझको; हे इन्दु, इन्द्र के लिए मादक रस बनकर (बह)।
