इन्द्रावरुणौ

इ॒मानि॑ वां भाग॒धेया॑नि सिस्रत॒ इन्द्रा॑वरुणा॒ प्र म॒हे सु॒तेषु॑ वाम् ।य॒ज्ञेय॑ज्ञे ह॒ सव॑ना भुर॒ण्यथो॒ यत्सु॑न्व॒ते यज॑मानाय॒ शिक्ष॑थः

हे इन्द्र और वरुण, निचोड़े हुए सोमों में तुम दोनों के ये हविर्भाग तुम्हारे महान् सत्कार के लिए बहकर आगे आ रहे हैं। हर यज्ञ में तुम सोम-सवनों में तत्पर रहते हो, जब सोम निचोड़नेवाले यजमान को तुम दान देते हो।

Indra and Varuna, these portions of yours have streamed forth for something great among the soma pressings. At every sacrifice you hurry to the pressings, when you give to the sacrificer who presses soma.

नि॒ष्षिध्व॑री॒रोष॑धी॒राप॑ आस्ता॒मिन्द्रा॑वरुणा महि॒मान॒माश॑त ।या सिस्र॑तू॒ रज॑सः पा॒रे अध्व॑नो॒ ययोः॒ शत्रु॒र्नकि॒रादे॑व॒ ओह॑ते

हे इन्द्र और वरुण, (बाधा) दूर करनेवाली औषधियाँ और जल ही थे — उन्होंने (तुम्हारी) महिमा प्राप्त की। तुम दोनों अन्तरिक्ष के और मार्ग के उस पार तक गए हो; तुम्हारा शत्रु कोई देवहीन (अधार्मिक) गिना ही नहीं जाता।

The plants and waters became generous; Indra and Varuna, they have reached your greatness. You two have run to the far side of the path through the midspace, and no enemy, no godless one, challenges you.

स॒त्यं तदि॑न्द्रावरुणा कृ॒शस्य॑ वां॒ मध्व॑ ऊ॒र्मिं दु॑हते स॒प्त वाणीः॑ ।ताभि॑र्दा॒श्वांस॑मवतं शुभस्पती॒ यो वा॒मद॑ब्धो अ॒भि पाति॒ चित्ति॑भिः

हे इन्द्र और वरुण, यह सत्य है कि कृश की सात वाणियाँ तुम्हारे लिए मधु की लहर दुहती हैं। हे शोभा के स्वामियों, उनके द्वारा उस हवि देनेवाले की रक्षा करो, जो निश्छल भाव से अपने विचारों से तुम्हारी सेवा करता है।

That is true, Indra and Varuna: for your lean worshipper the seven voices milk out the wave of honey. With them help the man who worships you, lords of splendour, the one who, never deceived, watches over you with his insights.

घृ॒त॒प्रुषः॒ सौम्या॑ जी॒रदा॑नवः स॒प्त स्वसा॑रः॒ सद॑न ऋ॒तस्य॑ ।या ह॑ वामिन्द्रावरुणा घृत॒श्चुत॒स्ताभि॑र्धत्तं॒ यज॑मानाय शिक्षतम्

घृत बरसानेवाली, सोम से युक्त, शीघ्र बहनेवाली सात बहनें ऋत के स्थान में हैं। हे इन्द्र और वरुण, जो तुम्हारे लिए घृत चुआती हैं, उन्हीं के द्वारा (धन) प्रदान करो और यजमान को दो।

Sprinkling ghee, belonging to soma, quick to give, are the seven sisters in the seat of truth. Indra and Varuna, with those sisters of yours that drip ghee, grant gifts and give to the sacrificer.

अवो॑चाम मह॒ते सौभ॑गाय स॒त्यं त्वे॒षाभ्यां॑ महि॒मान॑मिन्द्रि॒यम् ।अ॒स्मान्स्वि॑न्द्रावरुणा घृत॒श्चुत॒स्त्रिभिः॑ सा॒प्तेभि॑रवतं शुभस्पती

महान् सौभाग्य के लिए हमने तुम दोनों तेजस्वियों की सच्ची, इन्द्र-सम्बन्धी महिमा कही। हे शोभा के स्वामी इन्द्र और वरुण, घृत चुआती तीन-सात (धाराओं) के द्वारा हमारी रक्षा करो।

For great good fortune we have proclaimed the true greatness, the Indra-like power, of the two blazing gods. Help us well, Indra and Varuna, you who drip ghee, with the three groups of seven, lords of splendour.

इन्द्रा॑वरुणा॒ यदृ॒षिभ्यो॑ मनी॒षां वा॒चो म॒तिं श्रु॒तम॑दत्त॒मग्रे॑ ।यानि॒ स्थाना॑न्यसृजन्त॒ धीरा॑ य॒ज्ञं त॑न्वा॒नास्तप॑सा॒भ्य॑पश्यम्

हे इन्द्र और वरुण, तुमने आदि में ऋषियों को मनीषा, वाणी की मति और श्रुत ज्ञान दिया। यज्ञ का विस्तार करते हुए धीर पुरुषों ने जो स्थान रचे, उन्हें मैंने तप से देखा।

Indra and Varuna, through tapas I have seen the inspired thought, the insight of speech, and the learning you gave to the seers in the beginning, and the places the wise ones created as they spread out the sacrifice.

इन्द्रा॑वरुणा सौमन॒समदृ॑प्तं रा॒यस्पोषं॒ यज॑मानेषु धत्तम् ।प्र॒जां पु॒ष्टिं भू॑तिम॒स्मासु॑ धत्तं दीर्घायु॒त्वाय॒ प्र ति॑रतं न॒ आयुः॑

हे इन्द्र और वरुण, यजमानों में अहंकाररहित सद्भाव और धन की वृद्धि स्थापित करो। हममें सन्तान, पुष्टि और समृद्धि रखो, और दीर्घ जीवन के लिए हमारी आयु को बढ़ाओ।

Indra and Varuna, place in the sacrificers goodwill without arrogance and growth of wealth. Place offspring, prosperity, and well-being in us, and lengthen our lives so that we live long.
