अग्नि:

अग्ने॒ भव॑ सुष॒मिधा॒ समि॑द्ध उ॒त ब॒र्हिरु॑र्वि॒या वि स्तृ॑णीताम्

हे अग्नि, अच्छी समिधा से प्रज्वलित होओ; और बर्हि (यज्ञ-कुश) दूर तक फैलाया जाए।

Agni, be kindled with good kindling-wood, and let the barhis be spread out wide.

उ॒त द्वार॑ उश॒तीर्वि श्र॑यन्तामु॒त दे॒वाँ उ॑श॒त आ व॑हे॒ह

और (यज्ञशाला के) द्वार उत्सुक होकर खुल जाएँ; और (हे अग्नि,) उत्सुक देवों को यहाँ ले आओ।

And let the eager doors swing open, and bring the eager gods here.

अग्ने॑ वी॒हि ह॒विषा॒ यक्षि॑ दे॒वान्स्व॑ध्व॒रा कृ॑णुहि जातवेदः

हे अग्नि, हवि के साथ (देवों की ओर) जाओ, देवों का यजन करो; हे जातवेदस्, यज्ञ को सुसम्पन्न करो।

Agni, pursue the gods with the oblation, and sacrifice to them; make the rites well performed, Jātavedas.

स्व॒ध्व॒रा क॑रति जा॒तवे॑दा॒ यक्ष॑द्दे॒वाँ अ॒मृता॑न्पि॒प्रय॑च्च

जातवेदस् (अग्नि) यज्ञ को सुसम्पन्न करेगा, अमर देवों का यजन करेगा और उन्हें प्रसन्न करेगा।

Jātavedas will make the rites well performed; he will sacrifice to the immortal gods and please them.

वंस्व॒ विश्वा॒ वार्या॑णि प्रचेतः स॒त्या भ॑वन्त्वा॒शिषो॑ नो अ॒द्य

हे प्रचेतस् (अग्नि), सब वांछित धन हमें प्राप्त कराओ; आज हमारी प्रार्थनाएँ सत्य (फलदायी) हों।

Win all desirable things, attentive one; let our hopes come true today.

त्वामु॒ ते द॑धिरे हव्य॒वाहं॑ दे॒वासो॑ अग्न ऊ॒र्ज आ नपा॑तम्

हे अग्नि, उन देवों ने तुम्हें ही हव्य ढोने वाला और ऊर्जा (पुष्टि) का नप्तृ (पुत्र/वंशज) बनाया।

It is you, Agni, whom the gods set in place as carrier of the oblations, you, the child of nourishment.

ते ते॑ दे॒वाय॒ दाश॑तः स्याम म॒हो नो॒ रत्ना॒ वि द॑ध इया॒नः

हम तुम जैसे देव को हवि देने वाले बने रहें; प्रार्थित होकर तुम हमें महान् रत्न (धन) बाँट दो।

May we be those who give offerings to you, the god; when you are entreated, you will distribute great treasures to us.
