द्यावापृथिवी

म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी इ॒ह ज्येष्ठे॑ रु॒चा भ॑वतां शु॒चय॑द्भिर॒र्कैः ।यत्सीं॒ वरि॑ष्ठे बृह॒ती वि॑मि॒न्वन्रु॒वद्धो॒क्षा प॑प्रथा॒नेभि॒रेवैः॑

महान् द्यावापृथिवी, जो यहाँ सबसे ज्येष्ठ हैं, चमकते हुए स्तोत्रों से दीप्ति को प्राप्त हों — जब वृषभ ने गरजते हुए, अपनी दूर तक फैलने वाली गतियों से, इन दोनों अत्यन्त विस्तीर्ण और उच्च लोकों को अलग-अलग थाम दिया।

Let great Heaven and Earth, the foremost, be present here with radiance and with blazing chants, when the bellowing bull, measuring out the widest and lofty pair, spreads them with his far-reaching courses.

दे॒वी दे॒वेभि॑र्यज॒ते यज॑त्रै॒रमि॑नती तस्थतुरु॒क्षमा॑णे ।ऋ॒ताव॑री अ॒द्रुहा॑ दे॒वपु॑त्रे य॒ज्ञस्य॑ ने॒त्री शु॒चय॑द्भिर॒र्कैः

ये दोनों देवियाँ पूजनीय देवों के साथ पूजी जाती हैं; किसी को हानि न पहुँचाती हुई, सींचती (बढ़ती) हुई ये स्थित हैं — ऋत को धारण करने वाली, छलरहित, देवों को पुत्र रूप में रखने वाली, चमकते स्तोत्रों से यज्ञ का नेतृत्व करने वाली।

The two goddesses who deserve worship, together with the gods who deserve worship, have stood firm, doing no harm and growing strong. Faithful to truth, without deceit, with the gods as their children, they lead the sacrifice with blazing chants.

स इत्स्वपा॒ भुव॑नेष्वास॒ य इ॒मे द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी ज॒जान॑ ।उ॒र्वी ग॑भी॒रे रज॑सी सु॒मेके॑ अवं॒शे धीरः॒ शच्या॒ समै॑रत्

वही प्राणियों में कुशल शिल्पी था, जिसने इन द्यावापृथिवी को उत्पन्न किया; उस धीर ने अपने कौशल से इन दोनों विस्तीर्ण, गहरे, सुदृढ़ रूप से स्थापित लोकों को बिना किसी आधार-स्तम्भ के जोड़कर खड़ा कर दिया।

He who begot these two, Heaven and Earth, was truly a master craftsman among the worlds. Wise and skilful, he joined together the two wide, deep, well-fixed realms in space that has no supporting beam.

नू रो॑दसी बृ॒हद्भि॑र्नो॒ वरू॑थैः॒ पत्नी॑वद्भिरि॒षय॑न्ती स॒जोषाः॑ ।उ॒रू॒ची विश्वे॑ यज॒ते नि पा॑तं धि॒या स्या॑म र॒थ्यः॑ सदा॒साः

हे रोदसी (द्यावापृथिवी), अब अपने विशाल और स्वामिनियों सहित आश्रयों से हमें पुष्ट करती हुई, एक मन से, दूर तक फैली हुई और सबके द्वारा पूजनीय तुम दोनों हमारी रक्षा करो; हम अपनी प्रार्थना के बल से रथवान् और सदा लाभ पाने वाले हों।

Now, Rodasī, with your lofty protections and the divine wives, sending refreshment and acting in harmony, wide-reaching, all-embracing, worthy of worship, protect us. Through our insight may we have chariots and always have servants.

प्र वां॒ महि॒ द्यवी॑ अ॒भ्युप॑स्तुतिं भरामहे ।शुची॒ उप॒ प्रश॑स्तये

हे महान् द्यावापृथिवी, हम तुम दोनों के लिए उच्च स्तुति प्रस्तुत करते हैं — हे शुचि दोनों, तुम्हारी प्रशस्ति के लिए।

To you two, great Heaven and Earth, we bring forth our praise. We approach you, pure ones, to glorify you.

पु॒ना॒ने त॒न्वा॑ मि॒थः स्वेन॒ दक्षे॑ण राजथः ।ऊ॒ह्याथे॑ स॒नादृ॒तम्

अपने शरीर से एक-दूसरे को शुद्ध करती हुई तुम दोनों अपने ही सामर्थ्य से शोभित होती हो; प्राचीन काल से तुम ऋत को वहन करती आ रही हो।

Purifying each other with your bodies, you rule by your own skill. From of old you have carried the truth.

म॒ही मि॒त्रस्य॑ साधथ॒स्तर॑न्ती॒ पिप्र॑ती ऋ॒तम् ।परि॑ य॒ज्ञं नि षे॑दथुः

हे दोनों महान् (द्यावापृथिवी), तुम मित्र का (कार्य) सिद्ध करती हो; आगे बढ़ती हुई और ऋत को पुष्ट करती हुई तुम यज्ञ को चारों ओर से घेरकर बैठ गई हो।

Great ones, you fulfil the purpose of your ally, crossing over and furthering truth. You have sat down around the sacrifice.
