राजा का अभिषेकConsecration of a king

भूतो भूतेषु पय आ दधाति स भूतानाम् अधिपतिर् बभूव ।तस्य मृत्युश् चरति राजसूयं स राजा अनु मन्यताम् इदं

जो स्वयं सत्ता-सम्पन्न है, वह प्राणियों में दूध (पोषक बल) रखता है; वह प्राणियों का अधिपति हो गया है। उसके राजसूय में मृत्यु भी चलती है; वह राजा इसकी अनुमति दे।

Being himself mighty, he puts milk into all beings; he has become the overlord of beings. Death moves at his royal consecration; let that king approve this.

अभि प्रेहि माप वेन उग्रश् चेत्ता सपत्नहा ।आ तिष्ठ मित्रवर्धन तुभ्यम् देवा अधि ब्रुवन्

आगे बढ़ो, मुँह मत मोड़ो — तुम उग्र, सजग और शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले हो। हे मित्रों को बढ़ाने वाले, (आसन पर) चढ़ो; देवताओं ने तुम्हारे पक्ष में कहा है।

Step forward, do not turn away, you who are fierce, watchful, and a slayer of rivals. Mount (the seat), you who make your friends prosper; the gods have spoken for you.

आतिष्ठन्तं परि विश्वे अभूषं छ्रियं वसानश् चरति स्वरोचिः ।महत् तद् व्ŕ̥ष्णो असुरस्य नामा विश्वरूपो अम्ŕ̥तानि तस्थौ

(आसन पर) चढ़ते हुए उसे सबने चारों ओर से सजाया; श्री को वस्त्र की तरह ओढ़े वह स्वयं-प्रकाशित होकर चलता है। उस वृषभ असुर (शक्तिशाली प्रभु) का वह नाम महान् है; विश्वरूप होकर वह अमर वस्तुओं पर स्थित हुआ है।

As he mounted (the seat), all adorned him on every side; clothed in splendour, he moves, shining by his own light. Great is that name of the bull, the Asura (mighty lord); taking every form, he has stood upon the immortal things.

व्याघ्रो अधि वैयाघ्रे वि क्रमस्व दिशो महीः ।विशस् त्वा सर्वा वाञ्छन्त्व् आपो दिव्याः पयस्वतीः

बाघ की खाल पर खड़े बाघ (के समान) तुम महान् दिशाओं में डग भरो। सारी प्रजाएँ तुम्हें चाहें, और दूध से भरे दिव्य जल भी।

A tiger standing on a tiger-skin, stride out over the great directions. Let all the clans want you, and the heavenly waters rich in milk.

या आपो दिव्याः पयसा मदन्त्य् अन्तरिक्ष उत वा पृथिव्याम् ।तासां त्वा सर्वासाम् अपाम् अभि षिञ्चामि वर्चसा

जो दिव्य जल दूध से आनन्दित होते हैं — अन्तरिक्ष में या पृथ्वी पर — उन सब जलों के तेज से मैं तुम्हारा अभिषेक करता हूँ।

The heavenly waters that delight in milk, in the mid-air or on the earth — with the splendour of all those waters I sprinkle you.

अभि त्वा वर्चसासिचन्न् आपो दिव्याः पयस्वतीः ।यथासो मित्रवर्धनस् तथा त्वा सविता करत्

दूध से भरे दिव्य जलों ने तेज से तुम्हारा अभिषेक किया है। जिससे तुम मित्रों को बढ़ाने वाले बनो, सविता तुम्हें वैसा ही बनाए।

The heavenly waters rich in milk have sprinkled you with splendour. So that you may make your friends prosper, may Savitar make you so.

एना व्याघ्रं परिषस्वजानाः सिंहं हिन्वन्ति महते सौभगाय ।समुद्रं न सुभुवस् तस्थिवांसं मर्मृज्यन्ते द्वीपिनम् अप्स्व् अ᳙न्तः

ये (जल) बाघ (राजा) को आलिंगन करते हुए सिंह को महान् सौभाग्य के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं। जैसे (नदियाँ) स्थिर समुद्र को, वैसे ही वे जलों के बीच चीते को माँजकर शुद्ध करती हैं।

Embracing the tiger (the king), these (waters) urge the lion on to great good fortune. As the abundant streams do the standing ocean, they groom the leopard in the midst of the waters.
