नक्षत्रों से शुभ की प्रार्थनाPrayer for the asterisms' favour

यानि नक्षत्राणि दिव्य् अ᳙न्तरिक्षे अप्सु भूमौ यानि नगेषु दिक्षु ।प्रकल्पयंश् चन्द्रमा यान्य् एति सर्वाणि ममैतानि शिवानि सन्तु

जो नक्षत्र द्युलोक में, अन्तरिक्ष में, जल में, भूमि पर, पर्वतों पर और दिशाओं में हैं, और जिन तक चन्द्रमा (काल का) विधान करता हुआ जाता है — वे सब मेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों।

The asterisms that are in the sky, in the midspace, in the waters, on the earth, on the mountains and in the quarters, and those the moon moves through as it orders time — may all of them be kind to me.

अष्टाविंशानि शिवानि शग्मानि सह योगं भजन्तु मे ।योगं प्र पद्ये क्षेमं च क्षेमं प्र पद्ये योगं च नमो ऽहोरात्राभ्याम् अस्तु

अट्ठाईस शुभ और सुखदायी (नक्षत्र) मिलकर मुझे योग (प्राप्ति) प्रदान करें। मैं योग और क्षेम की शरण लेता हूँ, क्षेम और योग की; दिन और रात को नमस्कार हो।

May the twenty-eight kind and helpful (asterisms) together grant me gain. I take refuge in gain and security, in security and gain; homage to day and night.

स्वस्तितं मे सुप्रातः सुसायं सुदिवं सुमृगं सुशकुनं मे अस्तु ।सुहवम् अग्ने स्वस्त्य् अ᳙मर्त्यं गत्वा पुनर् आयाभिनन्दन्

मेरे लिए कल्याण हो, शुभ प्रातः, शुभ सन्ध्या, शुभ दिन, शुभ पशु (शिकार) और शुभ पक्षी (शकुन) हों। हे अग्नि, सरल आह्वान और कल्याण (दो); अमर (लोक) तक जाकर प्रसन्न होते हुए फिर लौट आओ।

May there be well-being for me, a good morning, a good evening, a good day, good beasts (game) and good birds (omens). Agni, grant an easy call and well-being; having gone to the immortal, come back again rejoicing.

अनुहवं परिहवं परिवादं परिक्षवम् ।सर्वैर् मे रिक्तकुम्भान् परा तान्त् सवितः सुव

पीछे से पुकारना, चारों ओर से पुकारना, निन्दा और (अशुभ) छींक — हे सवितृ, इन सबको खाली घड़ों सहित मुझसे दूर हटा दो।

Calling from behind, calling all around, slander and ill-omened sneezing — Savitar, drive all these away from me, along with the empty pots.

अपपापं परिक्षवं पुण्यं भक्षीमहि क्षवम् ।शिवा ते पाप नासिकां पुण्यगश् चाभि मेहताम्

चारों ओर की छींक पाप से रहित हो; हम शुभ छींक का भोग करें। हे पापी, शुभ (स्त्री) और पुण्य की ओर जाने वाला तेरी नाक पर मूत्र करें।

Let the sneezing around be free of evil; may we enjoy a lucky sneeze. Evil one, may the kindly one and the one who brings good fortune piss on your nose.

इमा या ब्रह्मणस् पते विषुचीर् वात ईरते ।सध्रीचीर् इन्द्र ताः कृत्वा मह्यं शिवतमास् कृधि

हे ब्रह्मणस्पति, ये जिन्हें वायु अलग-अलग दिशाओं में बिखेरकर ले जाता है — हे इन्द्र, उन्हें एक दिशा में करके मेरे लिए अत्यन्त कल्याणकारी बना दो।

Brahmanaspati, these that the wind drives off in scattered directions — Indra, bring them together and make them most kind to me.

स्वस्ति नो अस्त्व् अभयं नो अस्तु नमो ऽहोरत्राभ्याम् अस्तु

हमारा कल्याण हो, हमें अभय हो; दिन और रात को नमस्कार हो।

May we have well-being, may we be free of fear; homage to day and night.
