नक्षत्रों से कल्याण की प्रार्थनाPrayer to the lunar asterisms

चित्राणि साकं दिवि रोचनानि सरीसृपाणि भुवने जवानि ।तुर्मिशं सुमतिम् इछमानो अहानि गीर्भिः सपर्यामि नाकम्

आकाश में एक साथ चमकने वाले विचित्र प्रकाश, जो संसार में सरकते हुए तेज़ी से चलते हैं — उन 'तुर्मिश' की कृपा चाहते हुए मैं दिनों की और स्वर्ग-लोक (नाक) की वाणी से पूजा करता हूँ।

The bright lights together in the sky, gliding swiftly through the world: seeking the favour of the turmiśa, I worship the days and the vault of heaven with songs.

सुहवम् अग्ने क्ŕ̥त्तिका रोहिणी चास्तु भद्रं मृगशिरः शम् आर्द्रा ।पुनर्वसू सून्ŕ̥ता चारु पुष्यो भानुर् आश्लेषा अयनं मघा मे

हे अग्नि, कृत्तिका और रोहिणी पुकारने में सुगम हों; मृगशिरा मंगलकारी हो, आर्द्रा शान्ति दे; पुनर्वसु मधुर वाणी (सुख), पुष्य सुन्दरता, आश्लेषा प्रकाश और मघा मुझे उन्नति का मार्ग दें।

Agni, may Krittika and Rohini answer my call; may Mrigashiras be auspicious and Ardra bring comfort; may Punarvasu bring kindness, Pushya beauty, Ashlesha light, and Magha a good path for me.

पुण्यं पूर्वा फल्गुन्यौ चात्र हस्तश् चित्रा शिवा स्वाति सुखो मे अस्तु ।राधे विशाखे सुहवानुराधा ज्येष्ठा सुनक्षत्रम् अरिष्ट मूलम्

दोनों पूर्वा फल्गुनी और हस्त यहाँ पुण्य दें; चित्रा कल्याणकारी हो, स्वाति मेरे लिए सुखद हो; विशाखा के दोनों तारे समृद्धि दें, अनुराधा पुकारने में सुगम हो, ज्येष्ठा शुभ नक्षत्र हो और मूल हानि से रहित हो।

May the two Purva Phalgunis and Hasta bring merit here; may Chitra be kind and Svati pleasant to me; may the two Vishakhas bring bounty, Anuradha answer my call, Jyeshtha be a good asterism, and Mula be free of harm.

अन्नं पूर्वा रासतां मे अषाधा ऊर्जं देव्य् उत्तरा आ वहन्तु ।अभिजिन् मे रासतां पुण्यम् एव श्रवणः श्रविष्ठाः कुर्वतां सुपुष्टिम्

पूर्वा आषाढ़ा मुझे अन्न दें; उत्तरा आषाढ़ा देवियाँ बल-रस (ऊर्ज) लाएँ। अभिजित् मुझे पुण्य ही दे; श्रवण और श्रविष्ठा अच्छी पुष्टि करें।

May the Purva Ashadhas give me food, and the divine Uttara Ashadhas bring me strength. May Abhijit give me only merit; may Shravana and the Shravishthas give me good prosperity.

आ मे महच् छतभिषग् वरीय आ मे द्वया प्रोष्ठपदा सुशर्म ।आ रेवती चाश्वयुजौ भगं म आ मे रयिं भरण्य आ वहन्तु

शतभिषज् मुझे महान और विस्तृत स्थान दे; दोनों प्रोष्ठपदा अच्छा आश्रय दें; रेवती और दोनों अश्वयुज् मुझे सौभाग्य दें; भरणी मुझे धन लाएँ।

May Shatabhishaj bring me great and wide room, and the two Proshthapadas good shelter; may Revati and the two Ashvayujs bring me good fortune, and the Bharanis bring me wealth.
