दुःस्वप्न का निवारणDriving away bad dreams

अजैष्माद्यासनाम् अद्यामूम् अनागसो वयम्

आज हमने जीत लिया, आज हमने पा लिया; हम निर्दोष हो गए हैं।

Today we have conquered, today we have won; we have become free of guilt.

उषो यस्माद् दुष्वप्न्याद् अभैष्माप तद् उछतु

हे उषस्, जिस बुरे स्वप्न से हम डरे थे, वह (तुम्हारे प्रकाश से) दूर हट जाए।

O Ushas, let the bad dream that frightened us be driven away as you dawn.

द्विषते तत् परा वह शपते तत् परा वह

उसे द्वेष करने वाले के पास ले जाओ, उसे शाप देने वाले के पास ले जाओ।

Carry it off to the one who hates us; carry it off to the one who curses us.

यं द्विष्मो यश् च नो द्वेष्टि तस्मा एनद् गमयामः

जिससे हम द्वेष करते हैं और जो हमसे द्वेष करता है, उसी के पास हम इसे भेजते हैं।

To the one we hate and who hates us, we send it.

उषा देवी वाचा संविदाना वाग् देव्य् उ᳙षसा संविदाना

देवी उषस् वाक् के साथ एकमत है, और देवी वाक् उषस् के साथ एकमत है।

The goddess Ushas is in accord with Vak, and the goddess Vak is in accord with Ushas.

उषस् पतिर् वाचस् पतिना संविदानो वाचस् पतिना संविदानः

उषस् का स्वामी वाचस्पति के साथ एकमत है, और वाचस्पति उषस् के स्वामी के साथ एकमत है।

The lord of Ushas is in accord with the lord of speech, and the lord of speech is in accord with the lord of Ushas.

ते᳙ ऽमुष्मै परा वहन्त्व् अरायान् दुर्णाम्नः सदान्वाः

वे अमुक (शत्रु) के पास अराय, दुर्णामा और सदान्वा (नाम के अनिष्ट प्राणियों) को ले जाएँ।

Let them carry off to that person (our enemy) the Arayas, the evil-named ones, and the Sadanvas (demons).

कुम्भीकाः दूषीकाः पीयकान्

(उसके पास ले जाएँ) कुम्भीका, दूषीका और पीयक (नाम के अनिष्ट प्राणियों) को।

(Carry off to him) the Kumbhikas, the Dushikas, and the Piyakas (demons).

जाग्रद्दुष्वप्न्यं स्वप्नेदुष्वप्न्यम्

जागते हुए का बुरा स्वप्न और सोते हुए का बुरा स्वप्न (भी ले जाएँ)।

(Let them also carry off) the bad dreaming of waking hours and the bad dreaming in sleep.

अनागमिष्यतो वरान् अवित्तेः संकल्पान् अमुच्या द्रुहः पाशान्

जो कभी आने वाला नहीं उसकी इच्छाएँ, निर्धनता के संकल्प, और न छोड़ने वाले द्रोह के पाश (भी ले जाएँ)।

(Let them also carry off) the wishes for what will never come, the schemes of poverty, the snares of the malice that does not let go.

तद् अमुष्मा अग्ने देवाः परा वहन्तु वघ्रिर् यथासद् विथुरो न साधुः

हे अग्नि, देवता यह सब अमुक (शत्रु) के पास ले जाएँ, जिससे वह नपुंसक, डगमगाता हुआ और अस्थिर हो जाए।

O Agni, let the gods carry all this off to that person (our enemy), so that he becomes impotent, tottering, and not upright.
