ए॒षा स्या नो॑ दुहि॒ता दि॑वो॒जाः क्षि॒तीरु॒च्छन्ती॒ मानु॑षीरजीगः ।या भा॒नुना॒ रुश॑ता रा॒म्यास्वज्ञा॑यि ति॒रस्तम॑सश्चिद॒क्तून्

यह वही हमारी द्युलोक से जन्मी पुत्री उषा है, जिसने उदित होकर मनुष्यों की बस्तियों को जगा दिया — जो रातों में अपनी चमकती किरण से, अन्धकार की रातों के पार, पहचान ली गई।

Here she is, the Daughter of Heaven, born in heaven: dawning, she has woken the human settlements for us. With her bright radiance she has appeared among the dark nights, across the darkness and across the night-times.

वि तद्य॑युररुण॒युग्भि॒रश्वै॑श्चि॒त्रं भा॑न्त्यु॒षस॑श्च॒न्द्रर॑थाः ।अग्रं॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॑ बृह॒तो नय॑न्ती॒र्वि ता बा॑धन्ते॒ तम॒ ऊर्म्या॑याः

चमकीले रथों वाली उषाएँ लाल घोड़ों को जोतकर निकल पड़ीं और अद्भुत रूप से चमकती हैं। महान् यज्ञ का अग्रभाग ले चलती हुई वे रात का अन्धकार दूर हटा देती हैं।

They have driven out far and wide with ruddy-yoked horses. The Dawns, with their gleaming chariots, shine brilliantly. Leading the front of the great yajna forward, they drive away the darkness of the night.

श्रवो॒ वाज॒मिष॒मूर्जं॒ वह॑न्ती॒र्नि दा॒शुष॑ उषसो॒ मर्त्या॑य ।म॒घोनी॑र्वी॒रव॒त्पत्य॑माना॒ अवो॑ धात विध॒ते रत्न॑म॒द्य

हे उषाओ, हविदाता मनुष्य के लिए कीर्ति, बल, अन्न और शक्ति लाती हुई, ऐश्वर्यवती और वीर संतति की स्वामिनी तुम, आज उपासक को रक्षा और रत्न (बहुमूल्य धन) दो।

Dawns, you bring fame, the prize, refreshment and strength down to the mortal who gives. Bountiful ones, you who have command of wealth rich in heroes, grant help and treasure today to the one who worships.

इ॒दा हि वो॑ विध॒ते रत्न॒मस्ती॒दा वी॒राय॑ दा॒शुष॑ उषासः ।इ॒दा विप्रा॑य॒ जर॑ते॒ यदु॒क्था नि ष्म॒ माव॑ते वहथा पु॒रा चि॑त्

हे उषाओ, अभी इसी समय तुम्हारे पास उपासक के लिए रत्न है, अभी वीर के लिए और हवि देने वाले के लिए; अभी स्तोत्र गाने वाले विप्र के लिए भी। मुझ जैसे के लिए भी, पहले की तरह, वह धन ले आओ।

For now, Dawns, there is treasure for the one who worships you, now for the hero who gives, now for the inspired poet who sings, since even in the past you have brought it down to someone like me in return for hymns.

इ॒दा हि त॑ उषो अद्रिसानो गो॒त्रा गवा॒मङ्गि॑रसो गृ॒णन्ति॑ ।व्य१॒॑र्केण॑ बिभिदु॒र्ब्रह्म॑णा च स॒त्या नृ॒णाम॑भवद्दे॒वहू॑तिः

हे अद्रिसानु उषा, इसी समय अंगिरस तेरी स्तुति करते हुए गायों के बाड़ों का गान करते हैं; उन्होंने अर्क (स्तोत्र) और ब्रह्म (मन्त्र-शक्ति) से उन्हें फोड़ डाला, और उन वीरों का देवों को किया गया आह्वान सत्य सिद्ध हुआ।

उ॒च्छा दि॑वो दुहितः प्रत्न॒वन्नो॑ भरद्वाज॒वद्वि॑ध॒ते म॑घोनि ।सु॒वीरं॑ र॒यिं गृ॑ण॒ते रि॑रीह्युरुगा॒यमधि॑ धेहि॒ श्रवो॑ नः
