सोमापूषणौ

सोमा॑पूषणा॒ जन॑ना रयी॒णां जन॑ना दि॒वो जन॑ना पृथि॒व्याः ।जा॒तौ विश्व॑स्य॒ भुव॑नस्य गो॒पौ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वन्न॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभि॑म्

सोम और पूषा — धनों के जनक, आकाश के जनक, पृथ्वी के जनक। उत्पन्न होते ही ये दोनों समस्त भुवन के रक्षक बने, और देवों ने इन्हें अमृत का केन्द्र बना दिया।

Soma and Pushan, begetters of riches, begetters of heaven, begetters of earth: as soon as you were born, the gods made you the herdsmen of the whole world and the navel of immortality.

इ॒मौ दे॒वौ जाय॑मानौ जुषन्ते॒मौ तमां॑सि गूहता॒मजु॑ष्टा ।आ॒भ्यामिन्द्रः॑ प॒क्वमा॒मास्व॒न्तः सो॑मापू॒षभ्यां॑ जनदु॒स्रिया॑सु

जन्म लेते हुए इन दोनों देवों का (लोग) स्वागत करते हैं; ये दोनों अप्रिय अन्धकार को छिपा दें। इन सोम और पूषा के द्वारा इन्द्र ने कच्ची गौओं के भीतर पका हुआ (दूध) उत्पन्न किया।

The gods took delight in these two gods at their birth; these two hide away the unwelcome darkness. With these two, Soma and Pushan, Indra brought forth the cooked milk inside the raw cows.

सोमा॑पूषणा॒ रज॑सो वि॒मानं॑ स॒प्तच॑क्रं॒ रथ॒मवि॑श्वमिन्वम् ।वि॒षू॒वृतं॒ मन॑सा यु॒ज्यमा॑नं॒ तं जि॑न्वथो वृषणा॒ पञ्च॑रश्मिम्

हे सोम और पूषा, जो रथ अन्तरिक्ष को नापता है, सात पहियों वाला है, सब तक नहीं पहुँचता, चारों ओर घूमता है, मन से जोता जाता है और पाँच रस्सियों वाला है — हे वृषभ-समान बलशालियो, उस रथ को तुम दोनों गति दो।

Soma and Pushan, you bulls, you drive the chariot that measures out the airy space: seven-wheeled, not set moving for everyone, rolling in all directions, yoked by thought, with five reins.

दि॒व्य१॒॑न्यः सद॑नं च॒क्र उ॒च्चा पृ॑थि॒व्याम॒न्यो अध्य॒न्तरि॑क्षे ।ताव॒स्मभ्यं॑ पुरु॒वारं॑ पुरु॒क्षुं रा॒यस्पोषं॒ वि ष्य॑तां॒ नाभि॑म॒स्मे

इनमें एक ने अपना स्थान ऊपर आकाश में बनाया, दूसरे ने पृथ्वी पर और अन्तरिक्ष में। वे दोनों हमारे लिए बहुत-इष्ट, बहुत-अन्न वाले, बढ़ते धन का स्रोत हमारे लिए खोल दें।

One of them made his seat high in heaven, the other on earth and in the midspace. May these two release for us a flourishing of wealth, much desired and rich in nourishment. May they unbind the navel for us.

विश्वा॑न्य॒न्यो भुव॑ना ज॒जान॒ विश्व॑म॒न्यो अ॑भि॒चक्षा॑ण एति ।सोमा॑पूषणा॒वव॑तं॒ धियं॑ मे यु॒वाभ्यां॒ विश्वाः॒ पृत॑ना जयेम

इनमें एक ने सब भुवनों को उत्पन्न किया, दूसरा सब कुछ देखता हुआ चलता है। हे सोम और पूषा, मेरी इस प्रार्थना की रक्षा करो; तुम दोनों के सहारे हम सब युद्धों को जीतें।

One of them begot all the worlds; the other goes along, watching over everything. Soma and Pushan, help my inspired thought; with you two may we win every battle.

धियं॑ पू॒षा जि॑न्वतु विश्वमि॒न्वो र॒यिं सोमो॑ रयि॒पति॑र्दधातु ।अव॑तु दे॒व्यदि॑तिरन॒र्वा बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑

सबको गति देने वाला पूषा मेरी प्रार्थना को सफल करे; धन का स्वामी सोम हमें धन दे। अजेय देवी अदिति हमारी रक्षा करे। हम उत्तम वीरों के साथ यज्ञ-सभा में ऊँचे स्वर से स्तुति करें।

May Pushan, who sets all things moving, quicken our inspired thought; may Soma, lord of wealth, grant wealth. May the goddess Aditi, who cannot be resisted, help us. May we speak loudly at the ritual gathering, with good heroes around us.
