इन्द्र से सहायता की प्रार्थनाPrayer to Indra for help

कया नश् चित्र आ भुवद् ऊती सदावृधः सखा ।कया शचिष्ठया वृता

सदा बढ़ने वाला, अद्भुत मित्र (इन्द्र) किस सहायता के साथ हमारे पास आएगा? किस अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली ढंग से?

With what help will the wondrous one, our ever-growing friend, come to us? In what most powerful way?

कस् त्वा सत्यो मदानां मंहिष्ठो मत्सद् अन्धसः ।दृल्हा चिद् आरुजे वसु

मद देने वाले सोम-रसों में से कौन-सा सच्चा, सबसे उदार पेय तुम्हें मस्त करेगा, ताकि तुम दृढ़ (बाड़ों) को भी तोड़कर धन खोल दो?

Which true and most generous of the exhilarating draughts of soma juice will exhilarate you, so that you break open even the firm-fixed (enclosures) for wealth?

अभी षु नः सखीनाम् अविता जरितॄणाम् ।शतं भवास्य् ऊतिभिः

हम मित्रों, तुम्हारी स्तुति करने वालों की ओर अच्छी तरह मुड़ो; तुम सौ प्रकार की सहायताओं से हमारे रक्षक बनते हो।

Turn well toward us, your friends who sing your praise; with a hundred kinds of help you become our protector.

इमा नु कं भुवना सीषधामेन्द्रश् च विश्वे च देवाः ।यज्ञं च नस् तन्वं᳙ च प्रजां चादित्यैर् इन्द्रः सह चीक्ल्̥पाति

हम, इन्द्र और सभी देवता, अब इन लोकों को सिद्ध करें। इन्द्र आदित्यों के साथ हमारे यज्ञ, हमारे शरीर और हमारी सन्तान को व्यवस्थित करे।

Let us now bring these worlds to success, we and Indra and all the gods. May Indra, with the Adityas, set in order our yajna, our bodies and our offspring.

आदित्यैर् इन्द्रः सगणो मरुद्भिर् अस्माकं भूत्व् अविता तनूनाम् ।हत्वाय देवा असुरान् यद् आयन् देवा देवत्वम् अभिरक्षमाणाः

आदित्यों के साथ, मरुतों के दल सहित इन्द्र हमारे शरीरों का रक्षक हो। जब देवता असुरों को मारकर, अपने देवत्व की रक्षा करते हुए आए —

May Indra, with the Adityas and with his troop the Maruts, be the protector of our bodies. When the gods came, having slain the asuras and guarding their godhood —

प्रत्यञ्चम् अर्कम् अनयं छचीभिर् आद् इत् स्वधाम् इषिराम् पर्य् अपश्यन् ।अया वाजं देवहितं सनेम मदेम शतहिमाः सुवीराः

— (तब) उन्होंने अपनी शक्तियों से अर्क (सूर्य) को वापस इधर लौटाया, और तुरन्त ही चारों ओर प्रबल स्वधा को देखा। इसके द्वारा हम देवों द्वारा रखा गया बल/पुरस्कार प्राप्त करें; अच्छे वीरों वाले होकर सौ हेमन्त तक आनन्द मनाएँ।

— they led the sun back here by their powers, and right after that they saw the vigorous svadha all around. Through this may we win the prize the gods have set; may we rejoice for a hundred winters, with fine sons.
