दर्भ-मणि बाँधने का मन्त्रBinding on the darbha amulet

सहस्रार्घः शतकाण्डः पयस्वान् अपाम् अग्निर् वीरुधां राजसूयम् ।स नो ऽयं दर्भः परि पातु विश्वतो देवो मणिर् आयुषा सं सृजाति नः

हज़ार के मूल्य वाला, सौ गाँठों वाला, रस से भरा, जलों की अग्नि, पौधों का राजसूय — यह दर्भ हमें हर ओर से बचाए; यह दिव्य मणि हमें आयु से जोड़े।

Worth a thousand, with a hundred joints, full of sap, the fire of the waters, the royal consecration of plants: may this darbha protect us on every side. May this divine amulet join us with long life.

घृताद् उल्लुप्तो मधुमान् पयस्वान् भूमिदृंहो ऽच्युतश् च्यावयिष्णुः ।नुदन्त् सपत्नान् अधरांश् च कृण्वन् दर्भा रोह महताम् इन्द्रियेण

घी में से उखाड़ा गया, मधुर, रस से भरा, भूमि को दृढ़ करने वाला, स्वयं अडिग और दूसरों को डिगाने वाला — हे दर्भ, शत्रुओं को धकेलते और उन्हें नीचे करते हुए, महानों की शक्ति के साथ ऊपर उठो।

Plucked up out of ghee, honeyed, full of sap, firming the earth, unshaken yet shaking others: O darbha, drive off our rivals, put them beneath us, and rise up with the power of the great ones.

त्वं भूमिम् अत्य् एष्य् ओजसा त्वं वेद्यां सीदसि चारुर् अध्वरे ।त्वां पवित्रम् ŕ̥षयो ऽभरन्त त्वं पुनीहि दुरितान्य् अस्मत्

तुम अपने बल से भूमि से ऊपर निकल जाते हो; तुम यज्ञ में वेदी पर सुन्दर रूप में बैठते हो। ऋषियों ने तुम्हें पवित्र करने वाले के रूप में धारण किया; तुम हमारे पापों को हमसे धोकर दूर करो।

With your might you rise beyond the earth; you sit, lovely, on the altar at the sacrifice. The seers carried you as a purifier; wash our misdeeds away from us.

तीक्ष्णो राजा विषासही रक्षोहा विश्वचर्षणिः ।ओजो देवानां बलम् उग्रम् एतत् तं ते बध्नामि जरसे स्वस्तये

तीक्ष्ण, राजा, शत्रुओं को पछाड़ने वाला, राक्षसों का नाशक, सब लोगों का — यह देवताओं का ओज और उग्र बल है; (अब धारण करने वाले से:) उसे (दर्भ-मणि को) मैं तुम पर बाँधता हूँ, बुढ़ापे तक जीने और कल्याण के लिए।

Sharp, a king, overpowering, slayer of demons, belonging to all peoples: this is the vigour of the gods, their fierce strength. (To the wearer:) I bind it (the darbha amulet) on you for long life into old age and for well-being.

दर्भेण त्वं कृणवद् वीर्या᳙णि दर्भं बिभ्रद् आत्मना मा व्यथिष्ठाः ।अतिष्ठाय वर्चसाधान्यान्त् सूर्य इवा भाहि प्रदिशश् चतस्रः

दर्भ के सहारे तुम वीरता के काम करोगे; दर्भ धारण करके मन में विचलित मत होना। अपने तेज से दूसरों से ऊपर उठकर, सूर्य की तरह चारों दिशाओं को प्रकाशित करो।

With darbha you will do heroic deeds; wearing darbha, do not waver within yourself. Rising above others in splendour, shine like the sun over the four directions.
