कनि॑क्रन्ति॒ हरि॒रा सृ॒ज्यमा॑नः॒ सीद॒न्वन॑स्य ज॒ठरे॑ पुना॒नः ।नृभि॑र्य॒तः कृ॑णुते नि॒र्णिजं॒ गा अतो॑ म॒तीर्ज॑नयत स्व॒धाभिः॑

छोड़े जाते समय वह हरित सोम ज़ोर से गरजता है, और शुद्ध होकर काठ के पात्र के भीतर बैठ जाता है। पुरुषों के हाथों संभाला हुआ वह दूध को अपना चमकीला वस्त्र बना लेता है, और वहीं से अपनी ही शक्तियों से स्तुतियाँ उत्पन्न करता है।

The tawny one roars as he is poured out, settling in the belly of the wooden vat as he is purified. Guided by men, he puts on the cows (milk) as his festive garment; then, by your own powers, bring inspired thoughts to birth.

हरिः॑ सृजा॒नः प॒थ्या॑मृ॒तस्येय॑र्ति॒ वाच॑मरि॒तेव॒ नाव॑म् ।दे॒वो दे॒वानां॒ गुह्या॑नि॒ नामा॒विष्कृ॑णोति ब॒र्हिषि॑ प्र॒वाचे॑

अ॒पामि॒वेदू॒र्मय॒स्तर्तु॑राणाः॒ प्र म॑नी॒षा ई॑रते॒ सोम॒मच्छ॑ ।न॒म॒स्यन्ती॒रुप॑ च॒ यन्ति॒ सं चा च॑ विशन्त्युश॒तीरु॒शन्त॑म्

जल की तेज़ बहती लहरों की तरह स्तोताओं की मतियाँ सोम की ओर दौड़ पड़ती हैं। वे नमस्कार करती हुई उसके पास जाती हैं और उस कामी सोम में कामना करती हुई प्रवेश कर जाती हैं।

अच्छी तरह साफ़ किए गए उस अंशु को वे दुहते हैं — जो पर्वत-शिखर पर खड़े महिष के समान है, जो वृषभ पर्वत पर रहता है। उस गरजते हुए सोम के साथ स्तुतियाँ लगी रहती हैं; त्रित समुद्र में वरुण को धारण करता है।

इष्य॒न्वाच॑मुपव॒क्तेव॒ होतुः॑ पुना॒न इ॑न्दो॒ वि ष्या॑ मनी॒षाम् ।इन्द्र॑श्च॒ यत्क्षय॑थः॒ सौभ॑गाय सु॒वीर्य॑स्य॒ पत॑यः स्याम
