अग्नि :

हु॒वे वः॑ सू॒नुं सह॑सो॒ युवा॑न॒मद्रो॑घवाचं म॒तिभि॒र्यवि॑ष्ठम् ।य इन्व॑ति॒ द्रवि॑णानि॒ प्रचे॑ता वि॒श्ववा॑राणि पुरु॒वारो॑ अ॒ध्रुक्

बल के पुत्र, तरुण, निष्कपट वाणी वाले, सबसे युवा अग्नि को मैं अपनी स्तुतियों से तुम्हारे लिए बुलाता हूँ। वही प्रज्ञावान सबके लिए वांछनीय सम्पदाएँ भेजता है, जो बहुत धन वाला और छलरहित है।

With my hymns I call for you the son of strength, the young one whose speech is without deceit, the youngest — the attentive one who sends out riches desired by all, he who has many good things and does no harm.

त्वे वसू॑नि पुर्वणीक होतर्दो॒षा वस्तो॒रेरि॑रे य॒ज्ञिया॑सः ।क्षामे॑व॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि॒ यस्मि॒न्सं सौभ॑गानि दधि॒रे पा॑व॒के

हे बहुमुख होता, यज्ञ करने वाले लोग सायं और प्रातः तुझी में धन अर्पित करते हैं; जैसे पृथ्वी पर सब प्राणी टिके हैं, वैसे ही उन्होंने तुझ पावक में अपने सब सौभाग्य रख दिए हैं।

In you, many-faced hotar, the worshipful ones have placed goods night and day. In you, the purifier, they have put all good fortunes together, as all creatures are set on the earth.

त्वं वि॒क्षु प्र॒दिवः॑ सीद आ॒सु क्रत्वा॑ र॒थीर॑भवो॒ वार्या॑णाम् ।अत॑ इनोषि विध॒ते चि॑कित्वो॒ व्या॑नु॒षग्जा॑तवेदो॒ वसू॑नि

तू प्राचीन काल से इन प्रजाओं में बैठता आया है, और अपने सामर्थ्य से वांछित धनों का रथी बना। हे जानने वाले जातवेदस्, वहीं से तू अपने उपासक को निरन्तर धन बाँटता है।

From of old you have sat among these clans. By your will you became the charioteer of desirable things. So, perceptive Jatavedas, you hand out goods in unbroken succession to the one who worships you.

यो नः॒ सनु॑त्यो अभि॒दास॑दग्ने॒ यो अन्त॑रो मित्रमहो वनु॒ष्यात् ।तम॒जरे॑भि॒र्वृष॑भि॒स्तव॒ स्वैस्तपा॑ तपिष्ठ॒ तप॑सा॒ तप॑स्वान्

हे अग्नि, जो दूर से छिपकर हम पर आक्रमण करे और जो निकट से हमसे द्वेष करे — हे मित्र-सदृश महिमा वाले, उसे अपनी कभी बूढ़ी न होने वाली वृषभरूप ज्वालाओं से जला दे, हे परम तापक, अपने ताप से तपते हुए।

Agni, whoever attacks us from hiding, and whoever close by is hostile to us, you who are great through Mitra — burn him, hottest one, with your own ageless bulls, you who burn with heat.

यस्ते॑ य॒ज्ञेन॑ स॒मिधा॒ य उ॒क्थैर॒र्केभिः॑ सूनो सहसो॒ ददा॑शत् ।स मर्त्ये॑ष्वमृत॒ प्रचे॑ता रा॒या द्यु॒म्नेन॒ श्रव॑सा॒ वि भा॑ति

हे बल के पुत्र, जो तुझे यज्ञ से, समिधा से, उक्थों और स्तोत्रों से पूजता है — हे अमर अग्नि, वह प्रज्ञावान मनुष्यों में धन, तेज और यश से चमक उठता है।

Whoever honours you, son of strength, with sacrifice, with kindling wood, with recitations and chants — that attentive man, immortal one, shines out among mortals with wealth, splendour and fame.

स तत्कृ॑धीषि॒तस्तूय॑मग्ने॒ स्पृधो॑ बाधस्व॒ सह॑सा॒ सह॑स्वान् ।यच्छ॒स्यसे॒ द्युभि॑र॒क्तो वचो॑भि॒स्तज्जु॑षस्व जरि॒तुर्घोषि॒ मन्म॑

हे अग्नि, प्रेरित होकर वह काम शीघ्र कर; हे बलवान, अपने बल से विरोधियों को हटा दे। तेजों से अभिषिक्त तेरी जो वचनों से स्तुति होती है, उसे स्वीकार कर — स्तोता के मन्त्र को सुन।

When you are urged, Agni, do this quickly: drive back our rivals with your strength, you who are strong. Enjoy the words with which you are praised, anointed with lights — the thought the singer has voiced.

अ॒श्याम॒ तं काम॑मग्ने॒ तवो॒ती अ॒श्याम॑ र॒यिं र॑यिवः सु॒वीर॑म् ।अ॒श्याम॒ वाज॑म॒भि वा॒जय॑न्तोऽ॒श्याम॑ द्यु॒म्नम॑जरा॒जरं॑ ते

हे अग्नि, तेरी सहायता से हम उस कामना को पाएँ; हे धनवान, हम वीरों से भरा धन पाएँ; होड़ में जुटे हुए हम बल पाएँ — और हे अजर, तेरा वह कभी क्षीण न होने वाला तेज पाएँ।

With your help, Agni, may we gain that desire. May we gain wealth rich in good sons, wealthy one. Striving for the prize, may we gain the prize. May we gain your ageless splendour, ageless one.
