इन्द्र:

इन्द्र॒ पिब॒ तुभ्यं॑ सु॒तो मदा॒याव॑ स्य॒ हरी॒ वि मु॑चा॒ सखा॑या ।उ॒त प्र गा॑य ग॒ण आ नि॒षद्याथा॑ य॒ज्ञाय॑ गृण॒ते वयो॑ धाः

हे इन्द्र, पियो — यह सोम तुम्हारे लिए, तुम्हारे मद के लिए निचोड़ा गया है। अपने दोनों हरि घोड़ों को खोल दो, छोड़ दो, वे तुम्हारे सखा हैं। और गण में बैठकर गान करो, तथा यज्ञ को और स्तुति करने वाले को बल दो।

Indra, drink: it has been pressed for you, for your exhilaration. Unhitch your two bay horses, your companions, and set them loose. Then sit down in the company and sing out, and give vigour to the sacrifice and to the one who praises you.

अस्य॑ पिब॒ यस्य॑ जज्ञा॒न इ॑न्द्र॒ मदा॑य॒ क्रत्वे॒ अपि॑बो विरप्शिन् ।तमु॑ ते॒ गावो॒ नर॒ आपो॒ अद्रि॒रिन्दुं॒ सम॑ह्यन्पी॒तये॒ सम॑स्मै

उस सोम को पियो जिसे, हे इन्द्र, जन्म लेते ही तुमने मद और कर्म-शक्ति के लिए पिया था, हे विरप्शिन्। उसी इन्दु को तुम्हारे पीने के लिए गौएँ, नर, जल और पत्थर ने मिलकर तैयार किया और तुम्हारे पास भेजा।

Drink of this soma, Indra, abundant one. You drank it as soon as you were born, for exhilaration and for strength of will. For you the cows, the men, the waters and the pressing-stone have together sent forth this drop for you to drink.

समि॑द्धे अ॒ग्नौ सु॒त इ॑न्द्र॒ सोम॒ आ त्वा॑ वहन्तु॒ हर॑यो॒ वहि॑ष्ठाः ।त्वा॒य॒ता मन॑सा जोहवी॒मीन्द्रा या॑हि सुवि॒ताय॑ म॒हे नः॑

हे इन्द्र, अग्नि प्रज्वलित है और सोम निचोड़ा गया है; सबसे अच्छे ढोने वाले हरि घोड़े तुम्हें यहाँ लाएँ। तुम्हारी ओर लगे मन से मैं तुम्हें बार-बार बुलाता हूँ — आओ, हमारे महान कल्याण के लिए आओ।

The fire is kindled and the soma is pressed, Indra; let your bays, the best at drawing a chariot, bring you here. With a mind intent on you I call again and again: Indra, come to us for great well-being.

आ या॑हि॒ शश्व॑दुश॒ता य॑या॒थेन्द्र॑ म॒हा मन॑सा सोम॒पेय॑म् ।उप॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि शृणव इ॒मा नोऽथा॑ ते य॒ज्ञस्त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ वयो॑ धात्

आओ — हे इन्द्र, तुम सदा उत्सुक होकर और उदार मन से सोमपान के लिए आते रहे हो। हमारे इन स्तोत्रों को सुनो; और यह यज्ञ तुम्हारे शरीर में बल भर दे।

Come, Indra. You have always come to the soma-drinking with an eager and generous mind. Listen to these sacred formulations of ours, and then let the sacrifice give vigour to your body.

यदि॑न्द्र दि॒वि पार्ये॒ यदृध॒ग्यद्वा॒ स्वे सद॑ने॒ यत्र॒ वासि॑ ।अतो॑ नो य॒ज्ञमव॑से नि॒युत्वा॑न्स॒जोषाः॑ पाहि गिर्वणो म॒रुद्भिः॑

हे इन्द्र, तुम चाहे सुदूर आकाश में हो, चाहे कहीं अलग, चाहे अपने ही निवास में — जहाँ कहीं भी तुम रहते हो, वहीं से, हे गिर्वणस्, अपने घोड़ों के साथ आकर, मरुतों के साथ एकमत होकर, हमारी सहायता के लिए हमारे यज्ञ का सेवन करो।

Indra, whether you are in the farthest heaven, or somewhere apart, or in your own seat, wherever you are, come from there with your teams of horses, in fellowship with the Maruts. Lover of songs, protect our sacrifice and help us.
