इन्द्रः

यदि॑न्द्र चित्र मे॒हनास्ति॒ त्वादा॑तमद्रिवः ।राध॒स्तन्नो॑ विदद्वस उभयाह॒स्त्या भ॑र

हे अद्भुत इन्द्र, हे वज्रधारी, जो धन तुम्हारे द्वारा भरपूर दिया जाने योग्य है — हे धन के स्वामी, वह दान हमें दोनों हाथों से भर कर दो।

Wondrous Indra, wielder of the stone, finder of wealth: the generous gift that is yours to give, bring that bounty to us with both hands.

यन्मन्य॑से॒ वरे॑ण्य॒मिन्द्र॑ द्यु॒क्षं तदा भ॑र ।वि॒द्याम॒ तस्य॑ ते व॒यमकू॑पारस्य दा॒वने॑

हे इन्द्र, जिसे तुम चुनने योग्य और स्वर्गीय समझते हो, वही हमारे लिए ले आओ; तुम अपार हो — हम तुम्हारे उस दान को प्राप्त कर जानें।

Indra, whatever you think worth choosing, bring that heavenly thing here. May we come to share in your giving, which has no limit.

यत्ते॑ दि॒त्सु प्र॒राध्यं॒ मनो॒ अस्ति॑ श्रु॒तं बृ॒हत् ।तेन॑ दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑दद्रिव॒ आ वाजं॑ दर्षि सा॒तये॑

हे वज्रधारी, तुम्हारा जो देने को उत्सुक, प्रसिद्ध और महान मन है, उससे दृढ़ किलों को भी तोड़ कर हमें जीतने के लिए बल और धन दो।

Your mind is eager to give, ready to grant, famous and great. With it, wielder of the stone, you burst open even strongholds and release the prize for us to win.

मंहि॑ष्ठं वो म॒घोनां॒ राजा॑नं चर्षणी॒नाम् ।इन्द्र॒मुप॒ प्रश॑स्तये पू॒र्वीभि॑र्जुजुषे॒ गिरः॑

दान देनेवालों में सबसे उदार, मनुष्यों के राजा उस इन्द्र को स्तुति के लिए मैंने अनेक गीतों से प्रसन्न किया है।

For you I approach Indra to praise him: the most generous of the bountiful, the king of the peoples. With many praises he has taken pleasure in our songs.

अस्मा॒ इत्काव्यं॒ वच॑ उ॒क्थमिन्द्रा॑य॒ शंस्य॑म् ।तस्मा॑ उ॒ ब्रह्म॑वाहसे॒ गिरो॑ वर्ध॒न्त्यत्र॑यो॒ गिरः॑ शुम्भ॒न्त्यत्र॑यः

इसी इन्द्र के लिए कवि का वचन और कहने योग्य स्तोत्र है; स्तुति से प्रसन्न होनेवाले उसी के लिए अत्रि लोग गीतों को बढ़ाते हैं, अत्रि लोग गीतों को सँवारते हैं।

For him, for Indra, is the poet's speech, the hymn that is to be recited. For him who receives the sacred formulations, the Atris strengthen their songs; the Atris make their songs beautiful.
