ब्रह्मणस्पतिः

इन्धा॑नो अ॒ग्निं व॑नवद्वनुष्य॒तः कृ॒तब्र॑ह्मा शूशुवद्रा॒तह॑व्य॒ इत् ।जा॒तेन॑ जा॒तमति॒ स प्र स॑र्सृते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑

अग्नि को प्रज्वलित करता हुआ वह अपने विरोधियों को जीत लेता है; स्तुति रचकर और हव्य देकर वह बलवान होता है। अपनी सन्तान से वह दूसरे की सन्तान को पीछे छोड़ जाता है — जिस-जिस को ब्रह्मणस्पति अपना सहयोगी बना लेते हैं।

The man who kindles Agni will overcome those who try to overcome him; having made his sacred formulation and given his oblation, he will grow strong. With his own offspring he outstrips the offspring of others: so it is with anyone Brahmanaspati makes his ally.

वी॒रेभि॑र्वी॒रान्व॑नवद्वनुष्य॒तो गोभी॑ र॒यिं प॑प्रथ॒द्बोध॑ति॒ त्मना॑ ।तो॒कं च॒ तस्य॒ तन॑यं च वर्धते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑

वीर पुत्रों के बल से वह शत्रु वीरों को जीतता है, गायों से अपना धन फैलाता है, और स्वयं ही सावधान रहता है। उसकी सन्तान और पौत्र-परम्परा बढ़ती है — जिस-जिस को ब्रह्मणस्पति अपना सहयोगी बना लेते हैं।

With his warriors he will overcome the warriors of those who try to overcome him; with cattle he will spread his wealth, and he stays alert on his own. His children and grandchildren thrive: so it is with anyone Brahmanaspati makes his ally.

सिन्धु॒र्न क्षोदः॒ शिमी॑वाँ ऋघाय॒तो वृषे॑व॒ वध्रीँ॑र॒भि व॒ष्ट्योज॑सा ।अ॒ग्नेरि॑व॒ प्रसि॑ति॒र्नाह॒ वर्त॑वे॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑

नदी के वेगवान प्रवाह की तरह वह आक्रमण करने वाले पर प्रबल पड़ता है, और जैसे साँड़ बधियों पर, वैसे ही वह अपने बल से उन्हें दबा देता है। अग्नि की लपट की भाँति उसका आक्रमण रोका नहीं जा सकता — जिस-जिस को ब्रह्मणस्पति अपना सहयोगी बना लेते हैं।

Vigorous as a river in flood, he overwhelms those who rage against him; like a bull among geldings, he masters them by force. Like the onrush of Agni he cannot be held back: so it is with anyone Brahmanaspati makes his ally.

तस्मा॑ अर्षन्ति दि॒व्या अ॑स॒श्चतः॒ स सत्व॑भिः प्रथ॒मो गोषु॑ गच्छति ।अनि॑भृष्टतविषिर्ह॒न्त्योज॑सा॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑

उसके लिए दिव्य जल अटूट रूप से बहते हैं; वह अपने योद्धाओं के साथ गोधन पर सबसे पहले पहुँचता है। उसका तेज कुण्ठित नहीं होता, वह बल से शत्रु को मारता है — जिस-जिस को ब्रह्मणस्पति अपना सहयोगी बना लेते हैं।

For him the heavenly waters flow without ceasing; with his warriors he is the first to reach the cattle. With strength that cannot be broken he strikes down his foes by force: so it is with anyone Brahmanaspati makes his ally.

तस्मा॒ इद्विश्वे॑ धुनयन्त॒ सिन्ध॒वोऽच्छि॑द्रा॒ शर्म॑ दधिरे पु॒रूणि॑ ।दे॒वानां॑ सु॒म्ने सु॒भगः॒ स ए॑धते॒ यंयं॒ युजं॑ कृणु॒ते ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑

उसी के लिए सभी नदियाँ कलकल करती बहती हैं, और उसे अनेक अछिद्र आश्रय प्राप्त होते हैं। देवों की कृपा में वह सौभाग्यशाली होकर फलता-फूलता है — जिस-जिस को ब्रह्मणस्पति अपना सहयोगी बना लेते हैं।

For him alone all the rivers rush roaring, and they have granted him many secure shelters. Fortunate, he prospers in the favour of the gods: so it is with anyone Brahmanaspati makes his ally.
