अग्निः

म॒हः स रा॒य एष॑ते॒ पति॒र्दन्नि॒न इ॒नस्य॒ वसु॑नः प॒द आ ।उप॒ ध्रज॑न्त॒मद्र॑यो वि॒धन्नित्

वह (अग्नि) महान धन की ओर दौड़ता है — घर का स्वामी, बलवान, बलशाली धन के स्थान पर पहुँचता हुआ। वेग से बढ़ते हुए उसकी सेवा सोम कूटने के पत्थर करते हैं।

He hurries toward great wealth, the lord in the house, the master of goods that confer mastery, to wealth's track. The pressing stones will do him honour as he speeds near.

स यो वृषा॑ न॒रां न रोद॑स्योः॒ श्रवो॑भि॒रस्ति॑ जी॒वपी॑तसर्गः ।प्र यः स॑स्रा॒णः शि॑श्री॒त योनौ॑

वह जो मनुष्यों का वृषभ (बलवान नायक) है, और अपनी कीर्तियों से वैसा ही दोनों लोकों का भी है, जिसकी बहती धारा को जीवित प्राणी पीते हैं; जो बहकर अपने स्थान (योनि) में आ टिकता है।

He is the bull of heaven and earth, as if of men, through his fame. His outpouring is drunk by the living. He has run forth and settled in his womb.

आ यः पुरं॒ नार्मि॑णी॒मदी॑दे॒दत्यः॑ क॒विर्न॑भ॒न्यो॒३॒॑ नार्वा॑ ।सूरो॒ न रु॑रु॒क्वाञ्छ॒तात्मा॑

जिसने नार्मिणी नगरी को प्रकाशित किया — वह तीव्रगामी, कवि, उमड़ते हुए घोड़े के समान; सूर्य की तरह चमकता हुआ, सौ प्राणों वाला।

He has lit up the Nārmiṇī stronghold: the steed, the poet, like a charger of the cloud, shining like the sun, with a hundred selves.

अ॒भि द्वि॒जन्मा॒ त्री रो॑च॒नानि॒ विश्वा॒ रजां॑सि शुशुचा॒नो अ॑स्थात् ।होता॒ यजि॑ष्ठो अ॒पां स॒धस्थे॑

दो बार जन्म लेने वाला (अग्नि) दीप्त होकर तीनों ज्योतिर्लोकों और सब अन्तरिक्षों पर छा गया; वह जलों के स्थान में श्रेष्ठतम यज्ञकर्ता होता है।

The twice-born one has risen over the three luminous realms and all the spaces, blazing. He is the hotar who sacrifices best, in the shared seat of the waters.

अ॒यं स होता॒ यो द्वि॒जन्मा॒ विश्वा॑ द॒धे वार्या॑णि श्रव॒स्या ।मर्तो॒ यो अ॑स्मै सु॒तुको॑ द॒दाश॑

यही वह होता है जो द्विजन्मा है; उसने यश के साथ सब वांछनीय वस्तुएँ धारण की हैं — उस मनुष्य के लिए जिसने उसे हवि अर्पित की।

This is that hotar, the twice-born one, who has taken possession of all choice things worthy of fame, for the mortal with good offspring who has made offerings to him.
