अग्निः

पु॒रु त्वा॑ दा॒श्वान्वो॑चेऽ॒रिर॑ग्ने॒ तव॑ स्वि॒दा ।तो॒दस्ये॑व शर॒ण आ म॒हस्य॑

हे अग्नि, हवि देने वाला मैंने तुम्हें बार-बार पुकारा है — तुम्हारी ही शरण में, जैसे कोई किसी महान प्रेरक की शरण में हो।

I bring you offerings, Agni, and have called on you often. Though I am a stranger, I come into your keeping, as if into the shelter of a great lord.

व्य॑नि॒नस्य॑ ध॒निनः॑ प्रहो॒षे चि॒दर॑रुषः ।क॒दा च॒न प्र॒जिग॑तो॒ अदे॑वयोः

उस धनी कृपण से दूर, जो हवि देने के समय भी कुछ नहीं देता — जो कभी आगे नहीं बढ़ता और देवताओं से विमुख है।

Keep me apart from the rich man who has no strength and gives nothing, even when he boasts, and from the two godless ones who never go out to worship.

स च॒न्द्रो वि॑प्र॒ मर्त्यो॑ म॒हो व्राध॑न्तमो दि॒वि ।प्रप्रेत्ते॑ अग्ने व॒नुषः॑ स्याम

हे मेधावी अग्नि, वह मनुष्य कान्तिमान होता है और द्युलोक में महानों में सबसे बढ़कर होता है। हम उत्तरोत्तर तुम्हारे उत्साही भक्त बने रहें।

Inspired one, that mortal shines brightly and is the strongest of the great in heaven. Agni, may we be the foremost of your devoted followers.
