शत्रु-सेना को मोहित करनाConfounding the enemy army

अग्निर् नः शत्रून् प्रत्य् एतु विद्वान् प्रतिदहन्न् अभिशस्तिम् अरातिम् ।स सेनां मोहयतु परेषां निर्हस्तांश् च कृणवज् जातवेदाः

जानने वाला अग्नि हमारे शत्रुओं के विरुद्ध जाए, निन्दा (शाप) और अराति (द्वेषी) को जलाता हुआ। वह दूसरों की सेना को मोहित करे और जातवेदस् उन्हें हाथ-रहित कर दे।

Let Agni, who knows, go against our enemies, burning up the curse and the hostile one. Let him confuse the army of the others, and let Jatavedas leave them without hands.

यूयम् उग्रा मरुत ईद्ŕ̥शे स्थाभि प्रेत मृणत सहध्वम् ।अमीमृणन् वसवो नाथिता इमे अग्निर् ह्य् ए᳙षां दूतः प्रत्येतु विद्वान्

हे उग्र मरुतो, तुम ऐसे (अवसर) के लिए ही हो; आगे बढ़ो, कुचलो, जीतो। प्रार्थना किए जाने पर इन वसुओं ने कुचल दिया है; अग्नि इनका दूत है, वह जानता हुआ (शत्रु के) विरुद्ध जाए।

You formidable Maruts are made for a time like this: go forward, crush, overpower. These Vasus, when called on for help, have crushed; for Agni is their messenger, so let him, knowing, go against the foe.

अमित्रसेनां मघवन्न् अस्मान् छत्रूयतीम् अभि ।युवं ताम् इन्द्र वृत्रहन्न् अग्निश् च दहतं प्रति

हे मघवन्, जो शत्रु-सेना हमसे वैर करती हुई हमारी ओर आ रही है, हे वृत्रहन् इन्द्र, तुम और अग्नि दोनों उसे जला डालो।

Maghavan, the enemy army that comes at us in hostility: Indra, slayer of Vritra, you and Agni together burn it back.

प्रसूत इन्द्र प्रवता हरिभ्यां प्र ते वज्रः प्रमृणन्न् एतु शत्रून् ।जहि प्रतीचो अनूचः पराचो विष्वक् सत्यं कृणुहि चित्तम् एषाम्

हे इन्द्र, तुम्हारे दो हरि घोड़ों द्वारा ढलान से वेग से भेजा गया तुम्हारा वज्र शत्रुओं को कुचलता हुआ आगे बढ़े। सामने आते, पीछे आते और भागते हुओं को मारो; इनके चित्त को सचमुच चारों ओर बिखेर दो।

Indra, let your vajra, sent rushing down the slope by your two bay horses, go forth crushing the enemies. Strike those who come at us, those who follow, and those who flee; truly scatter their minds in every direction.

इन्द्र सेनां मोहयामित्राणाम् ।अग्नेर् वातस्य ध्राज्या तान् विषूचो वि नाशय

हे इन्द्र, शत्रुओं की सेना को मोहित कर दो। अग्नि और वात के वेग से उन्हें चारों ओर तितर-बितर करके नष्ट कर दो।

Indra, confuse the army of the enemies. With the rushing force of Agni and of the wind, scatter them in all directions and destroy them.

इन्द्रः सेनां मोहयतु मरुतो घ्नन्त्व् ओजसा ।चक्षूंस्य् अग्निर् आ दत्तां पुनर् एतु पराजिता

इन्द्र सेना को मोहित करे, मरुत् अपने बल से (उसे) मारें। अग्नि उनकी आँखें छीन ले; हारी हुई सेना वापस लौट जाए।

Let Indra confuse the army, and let the Maruts strike it down with their might. Let Agni take away their eyes, and let the beaten army go back.
