इन्द्र और वल-भेदनIndra, splitter of Vala

इन्द्रं वो विश्वतस् परि हवामहे जनेभ्यः ।अस्माकम् अस्तु केवलः

हम तुम्हारे लिए इन्द्र को चारों ओर के सब लोगों से अलग करके पुकारते हैं। वह केवल हमारा ही हो।

For you we call Indra away from all people on every side. Let him be ours alone.

व्य् अ᳙न्तरिक्षम् अतिरन् मदे सोमस्य रोचना ।इन्द्रो यद् अभिनद् वलम्

जब इन्द्र ने वल को तोड़ा, तब सोम के मद में उसने अन्तरिक्ष और प्रकाशमान लोकों को फैला दिया।

In the exhilaration of soma, Indra spread out the midspace and the realms of light, when he split Vala.

उद् गा आजद् अङ्गिरोभ्य आविष् कृण्वन् गुहा सतीः ।अर्वाञ्चं नुनुदे वलम्

छिपी हुई गायों को प्रकट करके उसने उन्हें अङ्गिरसों के लिए बाहर हाँक दिया। उसने वल को नीचे धकेल दिया।

He drove the cows out for the Angirases, bringing into view the ones that had been hidden. He pushed Vala down.

इन्द्रेण रोचना दिवो दृल्हानि दृंहितानि च ।स्थिराणि न पराणुदे

द्युलोक के प्रकाशमान लोक इन्द्र के द्वारा दृढ़ और स्थिर किए गए हैं। वे इतने अटल हैं कि उन्हें हटाया नहीं जा सकता।

Through Indra the luminous realms of heaven are made firm and fastened, fixed so that they cannot be pushed aside.

अपाम् ऊर्मिर् मदन्न् इव स्तोम इन्द्राजिरायते ।वि ते मदा अराजिषुः

हे इन्द्र, उमड़ती जल-तरंग की तरह यह स्तुति तेज़ी से तुम्हारी ओर बढ़ रही है। तुम्हारे मद चारों ओर चमक उठे हैं।

Like an exulting wave of the waters, this praise rushes toward you, Indra. Your exhilarations have shone out far and wide.
