सांतपना इदं हविर् मरुतस् तज् जुजुष्टन ।अस्माकोती रिशादसः

हे तपाने वाले (सांतपन) मरुतो, यह हवि तुम्हारी है; इसे प्रेम से स्वीकार करो, हमारी सहायता के लिए, हे शत्रुओं का नाश करने वालो।

O scorching Maruts, this oblation is for you; accept it with pleasure, to help us, you destroyers of enemies.

यो नो मर्तो मरुतो दुर्हृणायुस् तिरश् चित्तानि वसवो जिघांसति ।द्रुहः पाशान् प्रति मुञ्चतां सस् तपिष्ठेन तपसा हन्तना तम्

हे मरुतो, हे वसुओ, जो दुर्भावना वाला मनुष्य छिपकर हमारे विचारों को नष्ट करना चाहता है, वह स्वयं द्रोह के पाशों में बँध जाए; उसे अपने सबसे प्रचण्ड ताप से मार डालो।

O Maruts, O Vasus, whatever mortal bears us ill will and seeks to destroy our thoughts in secret, let him put on the fetters of Druh; strike him down with your hottest heat.

सम्वत्सरीणा मरुतः स्वर्का उरुक्षयाः सगणा मानुषासः ।ते अस्मत् पाशान् प्र मुञ्चन्त्व् एनसस् सांतपना मत्सरा मादयिष्णवः

वर्ष भर रहने वाले, सुन्दर गीत गाने वाले, विशाल धाम वाले, अपने गणों सहित, मनुष्यों के हितैषी मरुत हमें पाप के पाशों से छुड़ाएँ; वे तपाने वाले, आनन्दित और आनन्द देने वाले हैं।

May the Maruts of the year, the good singers of wide dwelling, who come with their troops and are friendly to men, free us from the fetters of sin; they are scorching, exhilarated, and bring joy.
