सविता की स्तुतिPraise of Savitr

अभि त्यं देवं सवितारम् ओण्योः᳙ कविक्रतुम् ।अर्चामि सत्यसवं रत्नधाम् अभि प्रियं मतिम्

मैं दोनों लोकों के उस देव सविता की, जिसकी बुद्धि कवि जैसी है, अर्चना करता हूँ — जिसकी प्रेरणा सच्ची है, जो रत्न देने वाला है, प्रिय है और विचारशील है।

I sing to that god Savitr of the two worlds, who has a seer's insight; I praise him whose impulse is true, who bestows treasure, the dear one, the thoughtful.

उर्ध्वा यस्यामतिर् भा अदिद्युतत् सवीमनि ।हिरण्यपाणिर् अमिमीत सुक्रतुः कृपात् स्वः᳙

जिसकी ऊँची दीप्ति उसकी प्रेरणा के समय चमक उठी, उस स्वर्णिम हाथों वाले, उत्तम संकल्प वाले सविता ने अपने रूप से स्वर्लोक को नापा।

His lofty splendour blazed up at his impelling; golden-handed and wise in purpose, he measured out the sunlit heaven with his form.

सावीर् हि देव प्रथमाय पित्रे वर्ष्माणम् अस्मै वरिमाणम् अस्मै ।अथास्मभ्यं सवितर् वार्याणि दिवोदिव आ सुवा भूरि पश्वः

हे देव, तुमने प्रथम पिता के लिए ऊँचाई और विस्तार प्रेरित किया। अब हे सविता, हमारे लिए दिन-प्रतिदिन वरणीय वस्तुएँ और बहुत-से पशु प्रेरित करो।

For you, god, gave the first father height and breadth. Now, Savitr, send us desirable things day after day, and cattle in plenty.

दमूना देवः सविता वरेण्यो दधद् रत्नं पित्ŕ̥भ्य आयूंषि ।पिबात् सोमं ममदद् एनम् इष्टे परिज्मा चित् क्रमते अस्य धर्मणि

घर का हितैषी, वरणीय देव सविता पितरों को रत्न और आयु देता है। वह सोम पिए, यज्ञ में सोम उसे आनन्दित करे; चारों ओर घूमने वाला भी उसके नियम में चलता है।

Savitr, the god friendly to the home and worth choosing, gives treasure and lifespans to the fathers. Let him drink soma and let it delight him at the offering; even the one who roams around moves under his law.
