युद्ध-रथ की स्तुतिPraise of the war chariot

वनस्पते वीड्व᳙ङ्गो हि भूया अस्मत्सखा प्रतरणः सुवीरः ।गोभिः संनद्धो असि वीडयस्वास्थाता ते जयतु जेत्वानि

हे वनस्पति (लकड़ी के रथ), तुम दृढ़ अंगों वाले बनो, हमारे मित्र, पार ले जाने वाले और अच्छे वीरों वाले बनो। तुम गोचर्म के बंधनों से कसे हुए हो, दृढ़ रहो; तुम पर चढ़ने वाला जीतने योग्य को जीते।

Vanaspati (wooden chariot), be strong-limbed, our friend, one who carries us through, rich in good warriors. You are bound with cowhide; hold firm, and let the one who rides you win what is there to be won.

दिवस् पृथिव्याः पर्य् ओज उद्भृतं वनस्पतिभ्यः पर्य् आभृतं सहः ।अपाम् ओज्मानं परि गोभिर् आवृतम् इन्द्रस्य वज्रं हविषा रथं यज

द्यौ और पृथिवी से निकाला गया ओज, वनस्पतियों से लाया गया बल, जल की शक्ति, गोचर्म से लिपटा हुआ इन्द्र का वज्र — इस रथ की हवि से पूजा करो।

Might drawn out of heaven and earth, strength gathered from the trees, the force of the waters, wrapped in cowhide, Indra's vajra: worship this chariot with an offering.

इन्द्रस्यौजो मरुताम् अनीकं मित्रस्य गर्भो वरुणस्य नाभिः ।स इमां नो हव्यदातिं जुषाणो देव रथ प्रति हव्या गृभाय

तुम इन्द्र का ओज, मरुतों की सेना का अग्रभाग, मित्र का गर्भ और वरुण की नाभि हो। हे दिव्य रथ, हमारी इस हवि-भेंट को स्वीकार करते हुए हमारी आहुतियाँ ग्रहण करो।

You are Indra's might, the front line of the Maruts, the embryo of Mitra, the navel of Varuna. Divine chariot, take pleasure in this offering we give, and accept our oblations.
