हिंसा-दोष से मुक्ति, स्वर्ग-कामनाRelease from wrongdoing, hope of heaven

यद् अन्तरिक्षं पृथिवीम् उत द्याम् यन् मातरं पितरं वा जिहिंसिम ।अयं तस्माद् गार्हपत्यो नो अग्निर् उद् इन् नयाति सुकृतस्य लोकम्

यदि हमने अन्तरिक्ष, पृथिवी या द्युलोक को, या माता अथवा पिता को कोई हानि पहुँचाई है, तो यह हमारा गार्हपत्य अग्नि हमें उस दोष से ऊपर उठाकर सुकृत (पुण्य-कर्म करने वालों) के लोक में ले जाए।

If we have done harm to the midair, the earth or the sky, or to our mother or father, may this household fire, Agni Garhapatya, lift us out of that and lead us to the world of those who have done good.

भूमिर् मातादितिर् नो जनित्रं भ्रातान्तरिक्षम् अभिशस्त्या नः ।द्यौर् नः पिता पित्र्याच् छं भवाति जामिम् ऋत्वा माव पत्सि लोकात्

भूमि हमारी माता है, अदिति हमारा जन्म-स्थान है, अन्तरिक्ष हमारा भाई है — ये हमें निन्दा या शाप से बचाएँ; द्यौ हमारा पिता है, वह पिता से जुड़े (दोष) से हमारे लिए कल्याणकारी हो। अपने बन्धुओं के पास पहुँचकर मैं इस लोक से नीचे न गिरूँ।

Earth is our mother, Aditi our birthplace, the midair our brother: may they shield us from curse. Heaven is our father: may he bring us well-being against what comes from the father (the fault inherited from him). Having joined my kin, may I not fall from this world.

यत्रा सुहार्दः सुक्ŕ̥तो मदन्ति विहाय रोगं तन्वः᳙ स्वायाः ।अश्लोना अङ्गैर् अह्रुताः स्वर्गे तत्र पश्येम पितरौ च पुत्रान्

जहाँ अच्छे हृदय वाले, पुण्य करने वाले लोग अपने शरीर का रोग छोड़कर आनन्द मनाते हैं, अंगों से न लँगड़े, न टेढ़े — उस स्वर्ग में हम अपने माता-पिता और पुत्रों को देखें।

Where the kind-hearted who did good rejoice, having left behind the sickness of their own bodies, not lame in their limbs and not crooked, there in heaven may we see our parents and our sons.
