बृहस्पति की स्तुतिPraise of Brihaspati

यो अद्रिभित् प्रथमजा ऋतावा ब्ŕ̥हस्पतिर् आङ्गिरसो हविष्मान् ।द्विबर्हज्मा प्राघर्मसत् पिता न आ रोदसी वृषभो रोरवीति

जो चट्टान को तोड़ने वाले, पहले जन्मे, ऋत का पालन करने वाले, आङ्गिरस और हवि वाले बृहस्पति हैं; दोनों ओर ऊँचे मार्ग वाले, घर्म (तप्त पात्र) के सामने बैठने वाले वे हमारे पिता, बैल की तरह द्यावा-पृथिवी तक बार-बार गर्जते हैं।

Brihaspati, who split the rock, the first-born, true to rta, the Angirasa who brings the oblation; whose course is doubly lofty, who sits before the hot gharma — he, our father, the bull, roars out across heaven and earth.

जनाय चिद् य ईवते उ लोकं ब्ŕ̥हस्पतिर् देवहूतौ चकार ।घ्नन् वृत्राणि वि पुरो दर्दरीति जयं छत्रूंर् अमित्रान् पृत्सु साहन्

जिन बृहस्पति ने देवों के आह्वान के समय आगे बढ़ने वाले (उपासक) जन के लिए भी खुला स्थान बनाया, वे बाधाओं (वृत्रों) को मारते हुए किलों को तोड़-फोड़ डालते हैं, शत्रुओं को जीतते और युद्धों में वैरियों को दबाते हैं।

Brihaspati, who at the calling of the gods made open space even for the person who comes forward, smashes the strongholds apart as he strikes down obstacles, conquering rivals and overpowering enemies in battle.

ब्ŕ̥हस्पतिः सम् अजयद् वसूनि महो व्रजान् गोमते देव एषः ।अपः सिषासन्त् स्व᳙र् अप्रतीतो ब्ŕ̥हस्पतिर् हन्त्य् अमित्रम् अर्कैः

बृहस्पति ने धन-सम्पदाएँ जीत लीं; इसी देव ने गायों से भरे बड़े बाड़े (गोशालाएँ) जीते। जल और स्वर्-प्रकाश को पाना चाहते हुए, अजेय बृहस्पति अर्कों (स्तुति-गीतों) से शत्रु का वध करते हैं।

Brihaspati has won treasures; this god won the great cattle-pens full of cows. Seeking to win the waters and the sun, irresistible Brihaspati strikes down the enemy with his chants.
