यज्ञ की महिमाThe power of the sacrifice

यज्ञेन यज्ञम् अयजन्त देवास् तानि धर्माणि प्रथमान्य् आसन् ।ते ह नाकं महिमानः सचन्त यत्र पूर्वे साध्याः सन्ति देवाः

देवों ने यज्ञ के द्वारा यज्ञ की पूजा की; वे ही पहले धर्म (विधान) थे। वे महान लोग उस नाक (स्वर्गलोक) तक पहुँचे, जहाँ पहले के साध्य देव रहते हैं।

With the sacrifice the gods worshipped the sacrifice; those were the first ordinances. Those great ones reached the vault of heaven, where the Sadhyas, the earlier gods, live.

यज्ञो बभूव स आ बभूव स प्र जज्ञे स उ वावृधे पुनः ।स देवानाम् अधिपतिर् बभूव सो अस्मासु द्रविणम् आ दधातु

यज्ञ उत्पन्न हुआ, वह यहाँ प्रकट हुआ, वह जन्मा और फिर बढ़ा। वह देवों का अधिपति बना; वह हम में धन स्थापित करे।

The sacrifice came into being; it came here, it was born, and it grew again. It became the overlord of the gods; may it place wealth in us.

यद् देवा देवान् हविषा ऽयजन्तामर्त्यान् मनसा मर्त्येन ।मदेम तत्र परमे व्यो᳙मन् पश्येम तद् उदितौ सूर्यस्य

जब देवों ने हवि से देवों की, अमर्त्यों की, मर्त्य मन से पूजा की — उस परम आकाश में हम आनन्द पाएँ, और सूर्य के उदय होने पर उसे देखें।

When the gods worshipped the gods with oblation, the immortals with a mortal mind — may we rejoice there in the highest heaven, and see it at the rising of the sun.

यत् पुरुषेण हविषा यज्ञं देवा अतन्वत ।अस्ति नु तस्माद् ओजीयो यद् विहव्येनेजिरे

जब देवों ने पुरुष को हवि बनाकर यज्ञ का विस्तार किया — क्या उससे भी अधिक बलवान कुछ है, जो उन्होंने विहव्य से यज्ञ किया?

When the gods spread out the sacrifice with Purusha as the oblation — is there anything mightier than that, which they offered with the vihavya?

मुग्धा देवा उत शुना ऽयजन्तोत गोर् अङ्गैः पुरुधा ऽयजन्त ।य इमं यज्ञं मनसा चिकेत प्र णो वोचस् तम् इहेह ब्रवः

मोहित (भ्रमित) देवों ने कुत्ते से भी यज्ञ किया, और गाय के अंगों से भी अनेक प्रकार से यज्ञ किया। जिसने इस यज्ञ को मन से जाना है, वह हमें बताए, यहीं-यहीं उसे कहे।

The bewildered gods sacrificed even with a dog, and with the limbs of a cow they sacrificed in many ways. Whoever has understood this sacrifice with his mind, let him declare it to us; let him tell it right here.
