यश और तेज की कामनाA prayer for glory and splendour

गिराव् अरगराटेषु हिरन्ये गोषु यद् यशः ।सुरायां सिच्यमानायां कीलाले मधु तन् मयि

पर्वत में, अरगराटों में, सोने में और गायों में जो यश है, उँडेली जा रही सुरा में और कीलाल में जो मधु है, वह मुझमें हो।

The glory that is in the mountain, in the aragarāṭas, in gold and in cattle, the sweetness in surā as it is poured and in kīlāla: may that be in me.

अश्विना सारघेण मा मधुनाङ्क्तं शुभस् पती ।यथा भर्गस्वतीं वाचम् आवदानि जनाꣳ अनु

हे शोभा के स्वामी अश्विनौ, मुझे मधुमक्खियों के मधु से लेप दो, जिससे मैं लोगों के बीच तेजस्वी वाणी बोलूँ।

Ashvins, lords of beauty, anoint me with the honey of bees, so that I may speak radiant words among the people.

मयि वर्चो अथो यशो ऽथो यज्ञस्य यत् पयः ।तन् मयि प्रजापतिर् दिवि द्याम् इव दृंहतु

मुझमें तेज हो, और यश हो, और यज्ञ का जो दूध (सार) है वह भी; उसे प्रजापति मुझमें वैसे ही दृढ़ करें जैसे द्युलोक में आकाश दृढ़ है।

In me be splendour, and glory, and the milk of the sacrifice; may Prajāpati make that firm in me as the sky is made firm in heaven.
