देवी देव्याम् अधि जाता पृथिव्याम् अस्य् ओषधे ।तां त्वा नितत्नि केशेभ्यो द्ŕ̥ंहणाय खनामसि

हे औषधि, तुम दिव्य हो और दिव्य पृथ्वी पर जन्मी हो। हे नितत्नी, हम तुम्हें बालों को दृढ़ करने के लिए खोदकर निकालते हैं।

You are divine, O herb, born on the divine earth. We dig you up, nitatnī, to make the hair firm.

द्ŕ̥ंह प्रत्नान् जनयाजातान् जातान् उ वर्षीयसस् कृधि

पुराने बालों को दृढ़ करो, जो नहीं उगे उन्हें उगाओ, और जो उग चुके हैं उन्हें और लंबा करो।

Make the old hairs firm, bring forth the ones not yet grown, and make the grown ones longer.

यस् ते केशो ऽवपद्यते समूलो यश् च वृश्चते ।इदं तं विश्वभेषज्याभि षिञ्चामि वीरुधा

(अब रोगी से:) तुम्हारा जो बाल जड़ समेत झड़ जाता है और जो टूटकर गिरता है, उस पर मैं यह सब रोगों को दूर करने वाली वनस्पति छिड़कता हूँ।

(Now to the person being treated:) The hair of yours that falls out root and all, and the hair that breaks off: on it I sprinkle this all-healing plant.
