जल से शुद्धि, वर्चस् की प्रार्थनाCleansing by waters, prayer for splendour

अपो दिव्या अचायिषम् रसेन सम् अपृक्ष्महि ।पयस्वान् अग्न आगमं तम् मा सं सृज वर्चसा

मैंने दिव्य जलों का आदर किया है; हम उनके रस से जुड़ गए हैं। हे अग्नि, मैं दूध (रस) से भरा हुआ आया हूँ; मुझे वर्चस् (तेज) से जोड़ दो।

I have revered the heavenly waters; we have been joined with their sap. Full of milk I have come, Agni: unite me with splendour.

सं माग्ने वर्चसा सृज सं प्रजया सम् आयुषा ।विद्युर् मे अस्य देवा इन्द्रो विद्यात् सह ŕ̥षिभिः

हे अग्नि, मुझे वर्चस् से, सन्तान से और आयु से जोड़ो। देवता मेरी इस बात को जानें, ऋषियों के साथ इन्द्र भी इसे जाने।

Agni, unite me with splendour, with offspring, with long life. Let the gods know this of mine; let Indra know it, together with the seers.

इदम् आपः प्र वहतावद्यं च मलं च यत् ।यच् चाभिदुद्रोहानृतं यच् च शेपे अभीरुणम्

हे जलो, इसे बहा ले जाओ: जो कुछ निन्दनीय है और जो मैल है, जो असत्य मैंने द्रोह से किया है, और जो शाप मैंने 'अभीरुण' (अर्थ अनिश्चित) रूप में दिया है।

Waters, carry this away: whatever is blameworthy and whatever is filth, the falsehood I have committed in treachery, and the curse I have uttered abhīruṇa (meaning uncertain).

एधो ऽस्य् एधिषीय समिद् असि सम् एधिषीय ।तेजो ऽसि तेजो मयि धेहि

तुम ईंधन हो, मैं बढ़ूँ; तुम समिधा हो, मैं भली-भाँति बढ़ूँ। तुम तेज हो, मुझमें तेज रखो।

You are fuel: may I thrive. You are the kindling-stick: may I thrive fully. You are brilliance: place brilliance in me.
