क्षत्र-रक्षा और शत्रु-नाशProtection of rule, defeat of enemies

अनाधृष्यो जातवेदा अमर्त्यो विराड् अग्ने क्षत्रभ्ŕ̥द् दीदिहीह ।विश्वा अमीवाः प्रमुञ्चन् मानुषीभिः शिवाभिर् अद्य परि पाहि नो गयम्

हे अग्नि, तुम अजेय, जातवेदस्, अमर, विराट् और क्षत्र को धारण करने वाले हो; यहाँ प्रकाशित होओ। सब रोगों को दूर करते हुए आज अपनी मनुष्यों के लिए कल्याणकारी (रक्षाओं) से हमारे घर की चारों ओर से रक्षा करो।

Agni, unassailable, Jatavedas, immortal, wide-ruling, upholder of dominion, shine here. Freeing (us from) all ailments, protect our household on every side today with your kindly protections for men.

इन्द्र क्षत्रम् अभि वामम् ओजो ऽजायथा वृषभ चर्षणीनाम् ।अपानुदो जनम् अमित्रयन्तम् उरुं देवेभ्यो अकृणोर् उ लोकम्

हे इन्द्र, मनुष्यों के वृषभ, तुम क्षत्र और वांछनीय ओज के लिए उत्पन्न हुए। तुमने शत्रुता करने वाले लोगों को दूर भगाया और देवताओं के लिए विस्तृत लोक (स्थान) बनाया।

Indra, bull of the peoples, you were born for dominion and for desirable strength. You drove away the hostile people and made wide space for the gods.

मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः परावत आ जगम्यात् परस्याः ।सृकं संशाय पविम् इन्द्र तिग्मं वि शत्रून् ताढि वि म्ŕ̥धो नुदस्व

भयानक पहाड़ी वन्य पशु की तरह, जो जहाँ-तहाँ विचरता है, वह (इन्द्र) सबसे दूर के प्रदेश से भी यहाँ आए। हे इन्द्र, अपने भाले और तीखे वज्र को पैना करके शत्रुओं को मार भगाओ, विरोधियों को दूर हटाओ।

Like a fearsome wild beast that roams at will and lives in the mountains, may he come here from the farthest distance. Indra, sharpen your spear and your keen-edged bolt, strike down the enemies and drive off those who attack.
