स॒हस्रा॑णि सहस्र॒शो ये रु॒द्रा अधि॒ भूम्या᳚म् ।तेषां॑ सहस्रयोज॒नेऽव॒ धन्वा॑नि तन्मसि ॥ अ॒स्मिन्म॑ह॒त्य॑र्ण॒वे᳚ऽन्तरि॑क्षे भ॒वा अधि॑ ।नील॑ग्रीवाः शिति॒कण्ठा᳚ः श॒र्वा अ॒धः, क्ष॑माच॒राः ॥ नील॑ग्रीवाः शिति॒कण्ठा॒ दिवं॑ रु॒द्रा उप॑श्रिताः ।ये वृ॒क्षेषु॑ स॒स्पिञ्ज॑रा॒ नील॑ग्रीवा॒ विलो॑हिताः ।ये भू॒ताना॒मधि॑पतयो विशि॒खासः॑ कप॒र्दिनः॑ ।ये अन्ने॑षु वि॒विध्य॑न्ति॒ पात्रे॑षु॒ पिब॑तो॒ जनान्॑ ।ये प॒थां प॑थि॒रक्ष॑य ऐलबृ॒दा य॒व्युधः॑ ।ये ती॒र्थानि॑ २७ प्र॒चर॑न्ति सृ॒काव॑न्तो निष॒ङ्गिणः॑ ।य ए॒ताव॑न्तश्च॒ भूयां॑सश्च॒ दिशो॑ रु॒द्रा वि॑तस्थि॒रे ।तेषां॑ सहस्रयोज॒नेऽव॒ धन्वा॑नि तन्मसि ॥ नमो॑ रु॒द्रेभ्यो॒ ये पृ॑थि॒व्यां ये᳚ऽन्तरि॑क्षे॒ ये दि॒वि येषा॒मन्नं॒ वातो॑ व॒र्॒षमिष॑व॒स्तेभ्यो॒ दश॒ प्राची॒र्दश॑ दक्षि॒णा दश॑ प्र॒तीची॒र्दशोदी॑ची॒र्दशो॒र्ध्वास्तेभ्यो॒ नम॒स्ते नो॑ मृडयन्तु॒ ते यं द्वि॒ष्मो यश्च॑ नो॒ द्वेष्टि॒ तं वो॒ जम्भे॑ दधामि ती॒र्थानि॒

पृथ्वी पर जो हज़ारों-हज़ार रुद्र हैं, उनके धनुषों की डोरी हम हज़ार योजन दूर उतार देते हैं। ये रुद्र हैं: इस महासागर जैसे अन्तरिक्ष में रहने वाले भव; नीले ग्रीवा और श्वेत कण्ठ वाले शर्व, जो नीचे धरती पर विचरते हैं; द्युलोक में बसे नीलग्रीव, शितिकण्ठ रुद्र; वृक्षों में रहने वाले, नई घास जैसे पीले-लाल, नीलग्रीव और गहरे लाल रुद्र; भूतों के अधिपति, शिखाहीन और जटाधारी रुद्र; जो अन्न में और पात्रों से पीते लोगों को बेधते हैं; मार्गों के रक्षक, ऐलबृद और यव्युध रुद्र; भाले और तरकश लिए तीर्थों में घूमने वाले रुद्र; और जो इतने या इनसे भी अधिक रुद्र दिशाओं में फैले हैं — उन सबके धनुष हम हज़ार योजन दूर उतार देते हैं। पृथ्वी, अन्तरिक्ष और द्युलोक में रहने वाले उन रुद्रों को नमस्कार, जिनके बाण अन्न, वायु और वर्षा हैं। उन्हें दस (अँगुलियों से) पूर्व की ओर, दस दक्षिण की ओर, दस पश्चिम की ओर, दस उत्तर की ओर और दस ऊपर की ओर नमस्कार। वे हम पर दया करें। जिससे हम द्वेष करते हैं और जो हमसे द्वेष करता है, उसे मैं तुम्हारे जबड़ों में रखता हूँ।

We unstring the bows of the thousands upon thousands of Rudras on the earth and set them a thousand leagues away. These Rudras are: the Bhavas in this great ocean, the mid-air; the Sharvas with dark necks and white throats who roam the ground below; the dark-necked, white-throated Rudras who dwell in heaven; those in the trees, yellow-red like young grass, dark-necked and deep red; the lords of beings, with shaven heads and with braided hair; those who pierce people in their food and as they drink from their cups; the guardians of the roads, the ailabrida and yavyudh ones; those who haunt the fords, armed with spears and quivers; and all the Rudras, this many and more, who have spread through the directions. Their bows we unstring and set a thousand leagues away. Homage to the Rudras in the earth, in the mid-air and in heaven, whose arrows are food, wind and rain. To them, ten (fingers) toward the east, ten toward the south, ten toward the west, ten toward the north, ten upward: homage. May they be kind to us. The one we hate and the one who hates us, I place him in your jaws.
