१अ॒यं वे॒नश्चो॑दय॒त् पृश्नि॑गर्भा॒ ज्योति॑र्जरायू॒ रज॑सो वि॒माने᳚ ।इ॒मम॒पां स॑ङ्ग॒मे सूर्य॑स्य॒ शिशुं॒ न विप्रा॑ म॒तिभी॑ रिहन्ति ॥ उ॒प॒या॒मगृ॑हीतोऽसि॒ शण्डा॑य त्वै॒ष ते॒ योनि॑र्वी॒रतां᳚ पाहि ॥ अ॒यं वे॒नः पञ्च॑विंशतिः
यह वेन अन्तरिक्ष को नापने वाले स्थान में उन्हें आगे बढ़ाता है जिनके गर्भ में पृश्नि (चितकबरा) है और जिनकी झिल्ली ज्योति है; जल और सूर्य के संगम पर विप्र इसे अपनी स्तुतियों से ऐसे चाटते-सहलाते हैं जैसे किसी शिशु को। (अब सोम-पात्र से:) तुम उपयाम (आधार-पात्र) से ग्रहण किए गए हो; तुम्हें शण्ड के लिए (लेता हूँ); यह तुम्हारा स्थान है; वीरता की रक्षा करो।
