१पन्था॑मनू॒वृग्भ्यां॒॒ संत॑ति२ं स्नाव॒न्या᳚भ्यां॒॒ शुका᳚न्पि॒त्तेन॑ हरि॒माणं॑ य॒क्ना हली᳚क्ष्णान्पापवा॒तेन॑ कू॒श्माञ्छक॑भिः शव॒र्तानूव॑ध्येन॒ शुनो॑ वि॒शस॑नेन स॒र्पा३ंल्लो॑हितग॒न्धेन॒ वयां॑सि पक्वग॒न्धेन॑ पि॒पीलि॑काः प्रशा॒देन॑ पन्थां॒ द्वाविं॑शतिः
(मैं प्रसन्न करता हूँ) मार्ग को दोनों अनूवृज् से, संतति को दोनों स्नायुओं से, तोतों को पित्त से, पीलेपन (रोग) को यकृत से, हलीक्ष्णों को अपान-वायु से, कूश्मों को गोबर से, शवर्तों को आँतों के अपचे अन्न से, कुत्तों को काटे-छाँटे भाग से, साँपों को रक्त की गन्ध से, पक्षियों को पके मांस की गन्ध से, चींटियों को गिरे टुकड़ों से। (अनुवाक 'पन्थाम्', बाईस मन्त्र।)
(I gratify) the path with the two anūvṛj, continuity with the two sinews, parrots with the bile, jaundice with the liver, the halīkṣṇas with foul wind, the kūśmas with the dung, the śavartas with the undigested stomach contents, dogs with the carving, snakes with the smell of blood, birds with the smell of cooked flesh, ants with the fallen crumbs.
