१अव॑धूतं॒॒ रक्षोऽव॑धूता॒ अरा॑त॒योऽदि॑त्या॒स्त्वग॑सि॒ प्रति॑त्वा पृथि॒वी वे᳚त्तु दि॒वस्स्क॑म्भ॒निर॑सि॒ प्रति॒ त्वाऽदि॑त्या॒स्त्वग्वे᳚त्तु धि॒षणाऽ॑सि पर्व॒त्या प्रति॑ त्वा दि॒वस्स्क॑म्भ॒निर्वे᳚त्तु धि॒षणाऽ॑सि पार्वते॒यी प्रति॑ त्वा पर्व॒तिर्वे᳚त्तु दे॒वस्य॑ त्वा सवि॒तुः प्र॑स॒वे᳚ऽश्विनो᳚र्बा॒हुभ्यां᳚ पू॒ष्णो हस्ता᳚भ्या॒मधि॑वपामि धा॒न्य॑मसि धिनु॒हि दे॒वान्प्रा॒णाय॑ त्वाऽपा॒नाय॑ त्वा व्या॒नाय॑ त्वा दी॒र्घामनु॒ प्रसि॑ति॒मायु॑षे धान्दे॒वो व॑स्सवि॒ता हिर॑ण्यपाणिः॒ प्रति॑गृह्णातु ॥ प्रा॒णाय॑त्वा॒ पञ्च॑दश च ।
राक्षस झाड़ दिया गया, शत्रु झाड़ दिए गए। (कृष्णाजिन से:) तुम अदिति की त्वचा हो, पृथ्वी तुम्हें पहचाने। (शम्या से:) तुम द्युलोक का खम्भा हो, अदिति की त्वचा तुम्हें पहचाने। (नीचे के पत्थर से:) तुम पर्वत की धिषणा (पीसने की शिला) हो, द्युलोक का खम्भा तुम्हें पहचाने। (ऊपर के पत्थर से:) तुम पर्वत की पुत्री धिषणा हो, पर्वती (नीचे का पत्थर) तुम्हें पहचाने। (धान से:) सविता देव की प्रेरणा में, अश्विनों की भुजाओं से, पूषन् के हाथों से मैं तुम्हें (इस पर) डालता हूँ। तुम धान्य हो, देवों को तृप्त करो। (पीसते हुए:) प्राण के लिए तुम्हें, अपान के लिए तुम्हें, व्यान के लिए तुम्हें; लम्बे विस्तार के साथ आयु के लिए मैंने तुम्हें रखा है। (आटे से:) स्वर्ण-हस्त सविता देव तुम्हें ग्रहण करें।
The rakshas is shaken off, the hostile powers are shaken off. (To the black antelope skin:) You are the skin of Aditi; let the earth recognise you. (To the pin, shamya:) You are the prop of heaven; let the skin of Aditi recognise you. (To the lower stone:) You are the dhishana (grinding stone) of the rock; let the prop of heaven recognise you. (To the upper stone:) You are the dhishana born of the rock; let the rocky one (the lower stone) recognise you. (To the grain:) At the impulse of the god Savitar, with the arms of the Ashvins, with the hands of Pushan, I pour you on (it). You are grain: gladden the gods. (While grinding:) For the in-breath you, for the out-breath you, for the diffused breath you; I have set you down for life, along its long stretch. (To the flour:) May the god Savitar, golden-handed, receive you.
